I'd just like to say that I think the rise of these new Alternate History RPs are a good idea. I've always thought that something like them could be fun (though sadly when I tried to make a similar type thing some people ruined it with unfair and unrealistic posts) and I think these are the first true RP's on this board as the TWs were less RPs and more games. I like to do play by post RPs and I'm on a few other sites dedicated to RPing such as one thats set in the Star Trek Universe and you make a character to RP as and I really enjoy doing this so I'm exited to see that on this site people are now interested in RPing as countries which is a concept I find interesting. So thank you to Ivan Kolev for bring these Alternate History RPs to our board because so long as everyone can be reasonable these should be great fun. On another note can we PLEASE stop changing our names all the time? Once in a while is tolerable but I literally have no idea who a rather large number of members are now because they keep changing their names. I am serious about this, I don't understand the need to constantly change because it can cause confustion in people. Changing it sometimes like Jean-Luc Picard is all good but constant changing is really starting to annoy me. Please stop. Rant over. Bismarck Jr mate you need to make your mind already. Every other day you have a new name. And who the hell is that guy who named himself as a famous chess player? His description is "Stronk" Apart from that, I agree with Frederick the Great. This kind of RP is fun actually. You aren't "obliged" to follow the rules and things actually look good. You can literally take any path for your country and then focus on it. Also you can efficiently use "money" (the concept that never made it into the TWs untill the latest one). Really fun! Thanks to Ivan Kolev. Also because of these wars he's alive again too (on the forum obviously)

I dont think the new alternate story RP are my cup of tea. I am not up to writing a huge wall of text about my country every phrase. Creative writing is one of my weakest points and I generally don't like doing it. No rules means theres a likely chance some OP stuff will happen during the RP
No rules mean makes me question if what I am doing is handicapping myself or being too OP. Like say am I doing more battles than needed to capture this province fairly? I am doing too few battles to capture this province?
I just well prefer games in that board that are more like board games.

Like Argentina says it has 10000 artillery pieces and nothing describes if they were built or bought. I think there should be at least a standard or two. Like taking a small province needs one battle. Big ones need two (like Texas). But this "field battle" innovation has confused me as well. As you never know where your enemies are? Are they hiding? Are they in the open? Things like that. Apart from that, its fun. You get to export your goods and but them from another country. Get to really "run" a country.

I felt like pissing off my commander in Napoleonic Wars so during a whole 1 hour line battle I kept shouting the retreat command.

I just well prefer games in that board that are more like board games. I have the same concerns. I liked games better when it's clear in what you can or can't do. But at least it's a nice change for a while to write (for me). I hate formal writing, essays, etc... but I tend to do reasonable well enough in creative writing (so it's my least hated type of writing).
