hereby my guide for Portugal 1798,

if you want to play another conquest with portugal look at this: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/517/portugal-1775-action-america-generals (1775 - America)
As you can see you start in the corner of the map, which gives you the advantage of fighting one front. upgrade Porto in the beginning with the money you have, put a general on the artillery you got in the beginning (I got Marmont, 3*)
try to conquer Porto with the artillery general and take it with the infantery you got, meanwhile take with the horse and the general at lisbon that nameles town and seville (i forgot arrows there) don't try to take the port because that general will kill your troops without having a bad time. you don't have to create units so you can upgrade the factory you have. avoid Madrid because there 2 generals. upgrade the town above Madrid
when you conquered the nameless town above madrid the cavalry general will head to you. use your artillery general to bombard him to his death. try to put him out of reach of your general, the river will asist you with that. meanwhile use troops from that city to conquer Zaragoza (don't take Madrid). secure your position at seville and upgrade seville and kill all spanish troops that are standing there. after you secured your position, head with your general towards the stable near madrid.
the spanish horsegeneral will be death right now. try to head towards madrid with your artillery general and bomb the general on madrid. when he's death take him with the troops you have on the stable. use your money to create troops at zaragoza. divide that troops in 2 groups, one smaller to conquer barcelona, and one big one to conquer the french cities. move your general to the french cities. you will get annoyed by french and spanish ships when you take barcelona but don't pay attention on that. when you conquer barcelona upgrade the factory. after this you will see that you've conquered the whole spain. so head towards french and conquer the nameless town and upgrade him. afterwards conquer bordeaux. move your artillery-general towards the battlefield when you've conquered madrid.
Make two groups right now. one at nameless town and one at bordeaux, you got enough money to create troops at both of them so do that. try to conquer marseille with your troops at nameless town, as you can see there will be a lot of french ships there but don't pay attention on that. when you conquered marseille upgrade the stable so you can make better troops on it. when you've done that head towards lyon with the horses you create at marseille and take it. upgrade lyon after taking it.
meanwhile conquer clermont with your troops at bourdeaux. move your artillery and infanterygeneral towards this battlefield. after you've taken clermont upgrade it. create troops at clermont right now. make sure your artillery general has catched them up. move your artillery general towards paris and bombard paris with him. use a troop nearby to take paris when your artillery general has taken it. move your other troops at clermont towards the netherlands and the left french cities. when ready with that take denmark-norway. after this you and your allies control the whole north.
use your horses and artillery on marseille to conquer italy and head east. you can put a general on a horse for speeding things up (not neccesary). make italy your mainbase for conquerin the ottoman, try to land your troops you create in italy before you attack the ottoman troops. because landtroops got a huge penalty when figthing on see. conquer the ports right now, you got enough money to build a lot of ships.

*Marmont (3*, to bombard Madrid and Paris, Important)
*Dumouriez (4*, to conquer the ottomans quickly, not important)
