Portugal isn't direcht to the battlefield in 1809, it's surrounded by allies like spain and marroco. the time you're spending moving towards france and algerie you have to save up money and upgrade Porto. move your ship with the horse on Faro towards Algerie. and bombard algerie with your ship, take the cities with your horse. your ship will be powerful enough to destroy everything in algerie so the only thing you have to do is take it with your horse. after you took Algerie move your ship towards spain to help them fighting against the france, at this time barcelona will be conquered by france so bombard it with your ship. move the rest of your troops towards france and take bordeaux, there will be no generals so it's easy to take, upgrade bordeaux.
as you can see the french generals will be moving out of toulouse towards spain so you can take it easily. after this head towards clermont and nantes (and nameless town above). upgrade them after you've conquered them. don't go towards paris because Napoleon is in there and he'll destroy everything that comes close to you, so head east to marseille and lyon with the troops you create at clermont. destroy the french general there with your artillery general.
create troops at lyon and conquer all te way up to the Netherlands with the horses from there (avoid paris because of Napoleon), I used dumouriz around this time to speed things up, but he isn't neccesary. conquer torino with troops you create at marseille. after taking torino you have to take milan and zurich. move your artillery (if he already destroyed the french general) towards Milan and Zurich, there will be generals standing on there so it will be great if you artillery general can bombard them. prepare for a long figth due to the generals. so create machine guns on torino. after you've taken this cities upgrade them. Use your troops you create at Milan to conquer italy, make Rome and Venice your main bases to conquer the ottoman.
Generals I used:
*Marmont (3*, to bombard places, necessary)
*Dumouriz (4*, to conquer all the way up from Lyon to the Netherlands except Paris, not necessary)
