I'm in Empire Age and working on Saladin (54%), but I'm short on Diamonds.
Have Washington, Genghis, Barbarossa, Alex, Li, and Nobunaga.
Where can I farm for Diamonds?

You might consider Classic India with autoplay battles. Also normal battles tend to give medals.

Classical Inca is a good choice.
You get 8 diamonds and 15 literature too, which you will need a lot of to advance to next ages.

I think for Saladin I used other stuff as I had troubles with diamonds too.

Yes other treasures, I could never find much diamonds and conquest takes too long. So I just used the other two options for treasures(too bad in discovery and gunpowder all daily give 8 ivory and 8 diamonds for me)

Others resource I have on 999. I want to say that everything will come sooner or later, except literature, For skipping era will need a lot of... I play over 20 conq for farming literature.  |
