i never win a conquest below 65 i usually win at round 70.... if you are new to the game(no generals bought) did some 5 star campaigns got 900 medals.... (thinking which free general to buy)... then goes to conquest.... which conquest do we newbies to start with no generals (unless you buy one) obviously not HRE since too much enemies... which conquest do you think would be better for newbies to start?

France 1798 or Britain 1798 are both fairly easy conquests without generals. For a starting general, I would buy Golitsyn who can be found in tier 2 for 800-900 medals. He is a very powerful cavalry general. Using Golitsyn you should be able to win Sophia from a conquest and she can be your artillery general. Another easy conquest is 1775 Britain but I would stick with Europe till you win Sophia.

HRE is definitely not a way to go for a new player because, as you mention, you are surrounded by enemies. I would recommend Russia. Russia has good generals, good economy, and only one front to fight, which is very important.

Better check those countries whole have limited fronts, like Portugal in 1798 or 1806 only fights with Spain or either take Sweden in 1798 or 1806 who fights with only Denmark (they are useless in 1809),play such countries until you feel confident enough to play Prussia, Austria, Ottoman empire or the last, the holy Roman empire .

Yes, I agree with Europe 1798 GB, france or russia.
I think golitsyn is a good choice too, and I would consider dobeln as well, infantry general in tier 2.

All of what I was gonna suggest already been posted ! I am too slow but this made me think we don't have an EW4 good basic guide for new free players.A step by step walkthough that shows stuff like what to start working on,do campaigns 1st or conquests or a mix? 1st general to get on a small budget, when to buy items and which items to buu, when do you try for 1st princess, when is a good time to start grinding, how do you manage with only 4 slots. For me the game was fun but a little confusing in figuring out a good way to do that progression.

I can capture Parid at round 15... killing the cavalry and the infantry general using the crappy artillery general August1 after that i unlock Lannes to use for the infrantry general thats around turn25-30 then here comes the british. I fight my way through france (AI keeps building useless forts) on the turkish front, i defeated Istanbul, but then annoying AI KEEPS BULDING FORTS On the other side. Captured Italy killing napoleon captired small islands. this is around round 45 then here comes spain... full of Infayry and made forts again.... defeated spain at round 71 spain keeps nuilding useless forts....

Agree w. armchair, really confused in the beginning... there are some great help to get in here though to get going and to figure things out. In choosing what generals to get I think the complete list of generals posted here is just great! If I wouldn't have found that I dont think I would be playing still. Maybe youre a little too early in the game but anyway here it is european-war-4.boards.net/thread/195/summary-general-dataAnd choose a different country to play than hre dont think you can do it fast enough without trained, good generals.
