Is it better to have a high defense or a high health value? I'm interested to hear your opinions.

I'm not sure...
Artillery have very high health, very low defence. Archers have low health and defence. Infantry have good health, ok defense. Cavalry (i'm not sure about this one) have ok defense and ok health.
I'm tempted to say defense, but remember the spy skill? supposedly weakens defense by 50% for 1-2 turns.
There is no skill that does the same to health. What use is having over a thousand defence and 100 health if the enemy can just use spy?
I'd have to go with medium amount of both. Can't be sure though.

Meh. I tend to care about health a decent bit, while boosting armor if the items allow it.

Health will allow you to take more hits, and more defense will allow you to take less damage, if both are combined you have a fearsome combo my friend

I prefer high defense more then high health This makes regen from items and healing skills more effective since you have less health they heal a higher percentage of your unit and the health is worth more since enemy deals less damage.

Higher defense makes each HP point goes down slower. Higher health makes defense more relevant. As one stat gets higher, another becomes more valuable. So I would choose one that my generals lack of (well, in practice, the choices are limited with items anyway).

I usually prefer defense on my own generals. All of the defense-filled generals take less damage. Maybe it isn't significant, but I find it extremely beneficial on assault missions.

On general with life steal I pick HP bc he got more health from 12%, 15% after killing, on general with Hp regen pick deff bc he will have +15, +30 hp just need me deff to hold Hp.

I prefer HP, as most items add both deff and HP, I prefer those with higher HP buff. For example, between the item 25deff+200HP and 45deff+300HP I would choose the last one, as 20 deff points will save You 100 HP only after some time. And for my archer team it is not for sure that the unit will receive so many hits during the mission as I like to focus on the enemy with all my units.
