As veterans know, it becomes much easier in later ages, though generic units aren't perfect at the job. Strong Artillery generals, to some extent weak ones, absolutely Rekt towers as well. I was wondering on behalf of Antonio Santa Anna and all of us who have had trouble at the start, what is the best way to deal with towers early on? (like in classical, medieval era) and maybe a tip for the later ones? One thing that for sure turns off people at the beginning is the towers in conquest. So I thought asking learned opinions would be useful.

As far as early game generals go, Cleopatra and Alexander are good at destroying towers. In conquest you can build a bunch of rams and autoplay the battle. That usually works for me if I don't have a general in that battle.

For conquest, I usually had 2-3 rams and focus on a single tower, with other units baiting away the towers. Also all units won't get in tower range until the rams are ready to strike, then everyone goes in and make sure the ram is not attacked by the tower by baiting. If there are range enemies behind towers then it's a good idea to try and lure them out.
