I doubt we underestimate the Ottomans THAT much. I mean, yeah, Ottoman is not as dead as we think, but really yuo of the outmatched. I am trying hard to save whatever I still have. Oh and next phase Ottomans will finally start building a new, modern Navy! That's the spirit. And Greece will watch what yuo do and attempt to match it. Interesting comparison of the GDP per person of the major powers of ww1, by 1990 prices (IRL Ottoman was $10 per person) UK: $4,921 per person UK colonies: $676 per person France: $3,485 per person Germany: $3,648 RUSSIA: $1,488 OTTOMAN: $1,100. AUSTRIA-HUNGARY: $1,986 Yuo have 10% the total GDP of any of these powers, other than Austria which is only 4 times you. |

You do have one of the larger geographic areas, but clearly you aren't utilizing the desert land that much. Or its not having an effect in the global economy. So instead of relying only on the Coast I can use the inland to my advantage too! There's a problem however, the cost of the project might be a bit too much. |
