I remember someone saying (either Desophaeus or NetherFreek) that buiding forts 8 tiles away from the airport also works well. I tested it with 1960 Italy abd it seems effective.

I hate paraspam, so I just send hordes of tanks and make minefields. Not very effective but it works.

Holding the Front and keeping resources tight will be better That can be hard sometimes Especially since the enemy always widens the various fronts. Under such conditions, resisting paraspam may not be possible.

I personally found the best way to combat paraspam is to paraspam right back. Then again, they (Germany, Japan, PRC) all had lower level paratroopers than me. However, if you can paraspam them right back and keep up the pressure, you have a huge chance of beating them back. That only works if you have an airport in range of the battlefield. Also, the AI will use fighters to attack your own troops. I remember in that particular conquest I had Govorov lead the attack to New Delhi, but he died from enemy airstrikes

Yeah, I have that problem too. Just keep sending troops and support them with armored cars or super heavies. I would take New Dehli with superheavies from Tehran but I only really paraspam to get into China from Europe, take Brisbane or to take a far away city. My airforce has a range of 8 so I'm in close proximity to many things. If being strafed is really a problem, just build air defence.

Just thought i like to add my 2cents on dealing with the dreaded paraspam. First it takes Oil and ALOT to paratroop its from a country that has alot Oil to spare any country rich with oil will paraspam,so one should endeavor to deny as much it as possible from the country doing it. You cannot repeat CANNOT Blitz an airfied intent on paraspam you will just get annihilated and have sweep up the paraspam and start again. Use AAG4 or higher to protect from air attacks on the ground aquired. You should also prepare for the enevitable onslaught when approaching germans in in Moscow Japs in Changchun Capitals or key cities with airfield. Use AC's and MI's mostly they are cheap,PMI are great for getting close if you have airfield near Build forts(many) once you get a chance when advancing they kill paraspam readily. As always take thier oil. The whole objective is take the paraspaming airfield nothing else.

The whole objective is take the paraspaming airfield nothing else. Yep, take out the airfield & you take out paraspam there. Deny the enemy all their airfields & their resources become wasted.

Armored Cars in triangular formations prevent paraspam from giving your guys the blue arrows by getting on opposite sides of your units. This is what makes them so effective at taking down your good units.
Stay outside of 8 hexes while you prepare your attack. Having a unit in reach prompts the spam and soon your field will be jam-packed with para-infantry that you have to wade into eventually. You don't want to trigger the attack prematurely.
Decide what you need to take out the city tbat is spamming them and gather your assault force. Six tanks and some Mobile Infantry backup should do it. Then get about twelve Armored Cars to deal with spam, then attack in force. Surround the city, then surround your attacking force with armored cars to force the spam away from your main attack formations. You can cover more area with truangle formations, and if paraspam drops into the holes you already have them surrounded. Do not stop to fight the spam: they are a distraction. Use the armored cars to clear the path to the city and push your attack force in at full speed. Once you have the city, use the wounded units to clean up.
If you find you are using your attack forces to clear spam, your atrack has failed. Pull back to 8 hexes and try again when you can afford it. The absolute worst thing you can do is sit at 7 hexes fighting spam, because the enemy can keep it up forever.
Unless...
One way to use paraspam to your advantage is to provoke spam in one location and make your real attack in another. I prep two full attacks, and launch them simultaneously. This spreads out the spam, or more commonly, the enemy ignores one and goes all out for the other.
I have also launched a string of Armored Cars from Yekaterina to force Moscow to keep dumping Paraspam in the east while I gobbled up Soviet cities in the west. When Moscow fell tomy virtually unopposed western front forces about eighty para-troops vanished.
