So pakistanis are their own race? Or are they and Indians the same? They have alot of similar cultural things. Maybe thats because of the Mughals. we are a mix of Arabs, Persians, Central Asians and South Asians. Yeah, pretty much our own thing |

Both are inheritors of the super ancient Indian cultures, with Pakistan apparently being the origin point for at least 1. Both being on the Indian subcontinent as well. Unlike Afghanistan. The main difference IMO, is that when the British left, the Muslims didn't want to be in a majority Hindu country. So they seceded, taking/forming the countries of Pakistan and Bangladesh (back then East Pakistan) Though of course 14% of India is still Muslim. The population exchange would also explain similarities. |

Well, I will grant you having different influences. Being on the far-western side of the subcontinent. Think it changes in particular once you get into Afghanistan, but what do I know? |

Wikipedia says 172 million Muslims in India, while Pakistan (96%) would have 189 million, and Indonesia (87%) the worlds largest Muslim country would have 227 million. I guess the numbers are fairly close, perhaps Pakistan only recently exceeded India's minority. Indonesia looks to have the most though, and is the largest majority Muslim country. |
