Subway is good tho. I was just reading about how in multiple countries, they got in trouble when their footlongs weren't a footlong. Often being 28 CM instead of 30, and stored in a box also smaller. They defended themselves by saying its not meant to be a measurement of length. But really? You are so close, is it THAT difficult to just add the suggested length? Perhaps they had all the buns/ingredients prepared for a while and would lose a lot of money if they had to scrap those and make new ones. Thanks for suggestion. One case happened in Arizona in 2007, one happened in 2013 in Australia. Along with the box size, suggests complacency and inertia. Surely they haven't been using a storage of bread for 6 years? That sounds wrong. Ignoring the box thing, one could suggest this is a natural occurrence. However, their giant subs were off by several inches, which is apparently not considered an acceptable varying range. |

Perhaps they had all the buns/ingredients prepared for a while and would lose a lot of money if they had to scrap those and make new ones. That's implying they don't bake their buns fresh. Better to swallow the losses than to admit that their breadstuffs aren't quite fresh. Indeed, so it also could have been out of stubbornness. |
