When I completed it first time I used Alex instead of Li Hongzang
The strategy anticipates advance to the north through the mountains instead of going south. There a lot of blocking the passage units, and after that You'll be jammed between castle with towers and with artillery generals inside and the walls with strong archer generals behind. That's why finally I've chosen north direction.
The artillery general and infantry units blocking the south way will follow You, but by that time You will have rage bar filled so Commanders will handle them very easy.
Near the fort there are several cavalry generals. Not a big deal in case You have couple of strong archers.
After You finished with the fort and units nearby advance to the east. There will be 2 artillery units, one archer (near the walls blocking southern way) and 1 extremely strong archer general. Be prepared to kill him with Commanders active. He is really strong.
There is one more powerful archer general will come from another shore of the lake. Kill him with You archers or Artillerists. As soon as he is dead You will need one general to take the factory on the other shore. Cavalry is the best choice.
Other units can go south to take care of the castle. Destroy either wall or tower with Your artillerists to make the passage and concentrate all the firepower on the artillery general holdingg the building.

Now my team is equiped with legendary weapon, so it is easier and faster. But first time I completed it without gold weapon by turn 20.
