The history of ww2 is everywhere, obviously no one is trying to forget about it,not even the Germans or the Japanese. Both of which acknowledge their responsibility.
You can remember history without having that flag, that flag is irrelevant and immaterial it is simply a symbole of a past power that is no more,it has a place in a museum with old relics,it doesn't need to be present in today mass media/entertainment of which gaming is part of.
On the pc you can mod games to show that flag, not too hard to do.

Exactly, and Nazi symbols and SS runes is banned in Germany because they want to prevent another Nazi uprising, not to make people forget about World War II. They actually learn about it extensively, even the Holocaust is explained in a special chapter in school there.

And about Germany, I think they should allow these signs in general. Germany still has the NPD as a political party. One of their guys officially denied that somebody died in Auschwitz. I just think it's bad when historic facts get censored. I know about the issue I was living in CH for most of my life and the difference to US documentations are pretty big.

Why should Swastika be banned but not the sovjet or the imperial Japan flag?

Why should Swastika be banned but not the sovjet or the imperial Japan flag? The Soviet flag and the Imperial Japanese flag was never banned but rarely used since people knew what happened and chose to not use it, resulting in them not being banned because people knew it would be inappropriate to use. The Swastika was banned since there are some big neo Nazi movements and Nazi leaning tendencies in people that still exist.

The Japanese did alot of terrible things such as rape and massacre, somehow the flag that represent japanese act in ww2 is not banned. And the Sovjets did much worse. They had work camps similar to consentration camps and after ww2, it was all forgotten. And while i understand that the nazi flag was banned, I think imperial japanese and sovjet flag should be banned to, because alot of innocent people died under these rules, and their families hates the flags because they think of what happened to their ancestors. For example is there many people in Russia, China and Ukraine that remember what happened during ww2, so yes i think those flags should be banned to, im sure people would agree.

The Soviet Union was our WW2 ally and Stalin was the leader of it. So he would simply keep his flag but once the Union collapsed many Russians might probably remember it as a time of power. Japan also decided to not change their flag if I'm correct.

This is my first time hearing the issue of banning the Soviet and Japanese Imperial flag. To be honest, I agree with you.

Japan also decided to not change their flag if I'm correct. Yes its correct Japan had the same flag only with slightly changes, it no longer resembles a rising sun. And to this day many Koreans and Chinese hates the flag, it makes sense. Many Russians have ancestors in Ukraine and they hate the sovjets. Even now many in Russia like the tsar.

Russians are actually not so brainwashed as the americans think there are actually not so many people who like the ussr only high ranked officials. And its a thing when a country loses a war and gets fully occupied, everything that is from the old country gets banned by the occupants, In Asia it was different circumstanses. Japan was willing to co-operate, even emperor Hirohito.
