Which is better, 1775 or 1812 in regards to getting Kate? And who is the more favorable country to play as? U.S or GB?

May I ask fast q here, when will Kate be needed in campaign? I play with 4 slot want to get her if there are many naval battles and then regrup her. Coalition- Copenhagen Campaign, battle of Trafalgar. I think a few Eastern Overlord missions will be helpful with her too. Also, Sun Never Sets has a lot of Naval Missions. If you are only playing with four slots, get Kate and Sophia early on. Maybe a cav gen like Golitsyn or Sulkowski. Use those gens to get isabella and later lan/victoria. There is plenty of info here, such as Picard's general analysis thread and all of the campaign guides.

Keep in mind that the “classic” 4-slot approach calls for training Victoria and Sophia to five-stars in navy, in-lieu of Kate. Sophia is great as a specialist vs. coastal forts (as you’d expect) but even with 5-stars is just OK against ships. Victoria is great on navy. The problem with both vs. Kate is that Sophia and Victoria take too much naval damage which is bad in a war of attrition (which most purely naval campaigns are).
As Stonewall points out, a strong case can be made for Kate early on in the game. She can fulfill a significant role in any of the following campaign scenarios and in almost all cases, would have greater impact than deploying an infantry general in that same scenario.
As always, the problem with the 4-slot approach and Kate, is what do you do with her in the land scenarios.
- Even with 5*, she’s just OK on artillery – and really also needs move training, if you’re going to use her in that role.
- You’ll find many scenarios before the end of the game that will be extremely difficult with even 3-maxed out land generals + Kate.
- Note the sequence and where Kate is most needed. It doesn’t leave much room to farm-up your last slot-filler (through campaign play), does it? Especially when you consider that 3 of the land scenarios in SNS are some of the toughest in the game.
Good Scenarios to Use Kate
IE Invasion of Britain North America I
Coalition Chain the Beast Copenhagen Campaign Battle of Trafalgar Gunboat War
HRE Return to Italy Invasion of the Peninsula Continental System Battle of Britain Expedition to North Africa North America Landings
EO Battle of Embabeh Territorial Dispute Retaking lost ground Finnish War Anglo Turkish War Rebellion Russo Turkish War (both sides) The Collapse of Turkey
RoA American Revolution III Great Sea Warfare March on Britain Peninsula Landings
SNS Save the colony Indian's blood Suppress revolution
--- Hardest naval
Battle of the Nile Anglo Spanish War Trade blockade Mediterranean war Black sea breakout
--- Hardest naval
Final battle

Kate can be used in the beginning- very helpful in the beginning, actually. But Victoria is also a good navy, and is also solid overall.

1775 US, no tough enemy, strong economy. Can you do it without generals or do you need some (I have Sulkowski 74/3 and Yermolov (86/3)

I suggest Spain 1775 it is way faster time wise since turns are faster(less stuff to move)my best with Spain 1775 is 47 turns, I did it with Lasalle,Suvorov,Sidney, and Sofia.
