July I guess? It will be still on WW2. not again! \●●/ Not really a surprise... it seems that in every game for WC, it's about WW2 but in every game it might be different for EW... I don't know why, but it seems to be their own thing.

WC3, WC2...maybe more. Anyway I'd still expect a better game variation wise than the bigger budget Call of Duty "WWII" which apparently is just the liberation of France (again!) plus a foray into Germany. BTW the new thing about EW5 was the pre-gunpowder combat. EW3 had many of the same events in EW5 (multiple powers invading China, even had an actual US Civil war thing) along with ww1. Still, this is not the most heartening news. Not really sure what time you guys want. They did the "future" in GOG2 and we know how that turned out.

I wouldn't mind a game that spans many years rather than one war. Like 1860-1917, make a game about that instead of WW2 re-skins.

(ok it went to 1918 with a level or 2 each campaign alt-history, and some of its events preceded 1860, like the Crimean war) Still, expanding on EW3/5 would be good. They could remaster WC3 even, and by remaster I mean expand.

Theres only so many times you can retell ww2 before it gets boring. I am pretty sure most of the WC3 ww2 levels were the same as ww2 levels from WC2, just adapted to suit the new engine.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Cold war levels. While there are plenty of them, the WC3 academy is empty of cold war generals other than ww1 ones who were alive for the beginning and probably died or retired before they show up in the game.
I guess there is a fine line between too few and way too many, but I feel like EW5 had less levels than it could have, not that its exactly short. The same could perhaps be said for WC3...or not.

easytech has ran out of ideas. It's the same WW2 over and over again in WC. The same levels, the same generals, same campaign, same conquests. It's getting repetitive now TBH.

I don't know why, but it seems to be their own thing. they're consistent when it comes to WC (WW2 the whole time) but the EW series can be anything (EW5 isn't even European, it has a world map. So much for calling it "EW"5).

Easytech is extremely consistent when it comes to their titles.
lets put it in a timeline...
?-1939: ew 1939-1975: wc 1975-?: Gog
Gog isn't sure though, but since gog2 started in 1975 i got a feeling theyre focussing this series on future events.
It isn't that weird though, think of hoi for an example, they're all as well in the same era.

It isn't that weird though, think of hoi for an example, they're all as well in the same era. Paradox Interactive did that on purpose... They have connected save systems for each one of the current running games now. CK2 ends, then EU4 starts on that exact year. EU4 ends then Vicky2 starts on that exact year. Vicky2 ends, then HOI3/4 starts on that exact year. You can actually carry a single save through all of those games. I believe CK2 start around 790 AD or something, then HOI3/4 ends somewhere in the 1950s? 70s? I know for sure: EU4 spans from 1399 to 1835.
