For example, the FREAKING HUGE DEMAND for literature to upgrade to the next age. I'm level 70 but stil at Discovery Age because I gave up for a while and only did daily missions.

Yes, the literature cost is quite high, expecially to Gunpowder, because until the Gunpowder age is the quickest conquest only the classical Greek one, for 20 literature (at least for me it was - Empire and Discovery conquests get more literature, but are much longer/ more difficult). In Gunpowder it is better, because Discovery conquest are suddenly much easier, so the progress is faster despite the 950 literature cost.
My biggest problem is that the game difficulty is derived from player level, and not from age and generals level. I am still in Gunpowder (need some 600 literature), and long time at level 99, so daily invasions are just impossible - AI units are all at 6th level.
Which leads to a question: are the resources obtained from invasions/conquests (perfumes, pearls, diamonds etc.) usable after getting all princesses and generals? And after achieving Industrial age, what about literature? You just will be hoarding more and more of it for nothing?

Yes. After You received all princesses and free generals You do not need resources anymore. Just ignore the Invasions.

So, basically, after upgrade to Industrial, all invasions and conquests are for nothing - only campaigns and city battles remain. Well, this also could be a problem. If only we could sell resources for medals...

Anyone still annoyed by the AI conquest upgrade hack? The AI can add levels to their starting unit after upgrading, then the unit is also promoted to its form in the new age. However, it does not work the same way for players in conquest.

I hate how everything costs medals. Generals themselves cost medals. Good items cost medals. Upgrading general's skills cost medals. And upgrading the generals costs medals. The game does not give out nearly enough to be able to consistently upgrade things and keep generals equipped with decent items. They should make more things cost coins.

Time will give you all... that is way beter then in gog2, in which someuniy were only available with real money!

Not really their fault because that's the point in the first place: making money. That's why the games tend to get frustrating to play without buying IAPs, and it's deliberate. Facts of life lol.
