Since the veterans for the standard Diplomacy game tend to have a strong awareness of each position for the 7 great powers (such as France/Russia both are monsters with high solo ratios, Austria-Hungary/Italy both are very weak and tends to fail badly against good opponents, England/Turkey are the wicked witches sitting in the opposite corners, easily surviving but hard to win a solo), but Zeus IV may seems to be a mystery at first. I wish to provide an interesting article on Z IV and its power distribution. The first half of the article is focused on designing a variant, but the second half gives an overall review of what the rankings for Z IV looks like: variantbank.org/articles/designing_maps.htmAlso a networking analysis of Z IV showing the corresponding neighborhood of each power. www.variantbank.org/articles/networking.htmHave fun examining the map and the articles' data.

Lol you can have it then. Do you think I should choose a country? Currently waiting to see who gets what, but might be a bad move, that.

If there needs to be a sub, I'll fill that role.

If there needs to be a sub, I'll fill that role. Tend to have some need at some point. In fact, in the first two movement phases... I plan to eject a NMR because the first year is so important to the balance of power. A recent example did demostrate that. What had happened in the EFC conspiracy tourney was diluted by three NMRs in Spring 1901. I'm pretty sad about it. Besides Dip06 starts in 1939 with a completely blank map (winter 1939), so in the very first turn before the full year of 1940, a NMR would have left a country without a single unit to defend his home centers! So by the time Winter 1940 finally comes around, that guy is probably down to 1 SC left (I did check the map, there's no way any power would be completely knocked out even if it didn't have any units to fight with).

You must really like Austria so much... in this scenario, Germanyball already became Naziball and anschluss Austriaball, so by playing as Germany, you have Austria too.
