Polenbal : The people who played Dip games before to my knowledge are... all of them (see Dips 01-05). You're probably the only new player. Well I'm new compared to all you guys. I've played....2-3 DIPs at most? Counting my incomplete match with glorious GM Deso. Well on Polenbal's ranking I'm the only Mediocre one. To tell the truth Polen Of the Valley Of the Moon, I was betrayed so incredibly hard that it is remembered as a very good example and achievement. I was willing to keep up the fight before the DIP ended, but the chance of me surviving was VERY low. I pulled Bismarck Jr down with me too  (sorry man, playing your homeland too) I guess its up to the others to reveal who did it. Honestly this game is very big on backstabbing. Not to say you should just do it, people vary on how much they do it, and Chronic backstabbers are not only not always liked but also not trusted, which is important. I'm too much of a noob to be a backstabber, not sure if I even did it yet. |

Something very good comes out of it; 2. You are sure you can eliminate the soon-to-be-stabbed in the next few turns; 3. Your other neighbours are willing to not utterly destroy your empire/ally with the stabbed player while you perform the stab. Of course, there's no single way to play Dippy, so take my opinion with circa 6*10^17 NaCl molecules. Funny... because I had been playing an occasional game of Dippy for 18 years here and there, I can't really say that I have been the same type of the player at the beginning in comparison to now. I think I went through maybe 3 or 4 major evolutions in both personality outside the game and the playstyle/approach inside the game. Safe to say that I did varied between Romantic and Classicist across rather wide spectrum throughout my "career". |
