Seeing that the last game had one such thread and that turns are highly likely to be drowned in "the sea of salt" I went ahead and made this thread. Pasting turns from that thread to this thread might help. Delaware 1861 The treacherous secession of the so-called Confederate States has put Delaware in a tough position: it is a slave-owing state, but the Governor, State Legislature, and People know that Delaware shall commit everything to the preservation of the Union, as it promised in the Washington Peace Conference. Delaware, being the first state in the Union shall not leave. However, some in Delaware still favor peace, including Thomas Bayard, to the cost of letting secession. To that end, Governor William Burton reminds the Governors and Legislature of the seceding states (Chancellor Otto Von Bismarck, ByzantineBall, Polenbal, Wilhuff Tarkin, The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test) that before President Lincoln was elected (of which Delaware itself did not support), the Corwin Amendment to the Constitution had passed Congress and awaiting approval of state legislature. Such amendment would prevent any interference from the Federal Government regarding slavery. With the combined political power of the slave states, such amendment would pass and the seceding Confederates shall fulfill its purpose without firing a shot. To that end, Governor Burton invites the Southern Governors to a peace conference in Dover, or be branded traitors. To the free states of the Union (Frank Underwood, oreo, Svetozar Boroevic, Stonewall Jackson), Burton issues the Three Points: 1. That in the restoration of the Union, no attempt shall be made to abolish slavery; 2. That the Federal Government renounce any future intervention regarding the state's rights on slavery; 3. That the integrity of the Union shall be protected forever. (OOC note: DuPont in Delware supplied 1/2 the Union's gunpowder, so I suggest y'all accept) While Delaware will not resort to vile and treacherous measures like secession, we shall do everything to prevent the abolition of slavery. With the secession, abolitionists in Delaware have grown bold enough to free slaves in the Southern Counties. As such, a general crackdown begin on such organizations, and anyone found freeing a slave shall be punished accordingly. Delaware's industry begin to prepare for War. Henry DuPont, as with any other Delaware citizen, leads the local industrialists in preserving the Union. Gunpowder begins manufacture in Wilmington. Shipbuilders Harlan & Hollingsworth are given a contract of 60 ships, as well as Pusey & Jones (both in Wilmington) for 50 ships. An ironclad ship design from the correspondence of Southern Governors is developed, prototype to be ready in 1862. Wagons and carts are also made with guns. Delaware raises 3 regiments, each of 2,500 men. They are for now guarding the area of Delaware and Maryland. The 1st Delaware Cavalry is also formed, though grossly undermanned. (OOC: posting about ironclads in public IMO means the info is available IC) TBC (OOC: I assume everyone understands that above is IRP Delaware based on RL Delaware, not me) Read more: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/5765/alternate-history-american-civilwar?page=11#ixzz4j2wJzq24

Ohio 1861 Please note that it is important to take notice of the role Ohio played in the Civil War. The state itself provided over 300,000 Union soldiers, along with over 200 Infantry/Cavalry Regiments, and over 20 Artillery Regiments. With that being put aside, it is also important to note that those number's were by the wars end, and in the beginning the numbers would be inferior. In the beginning of the War in 1861, Lincoln ordered 75,000 volunteers to be assembled. The 14th Ohio Infantry under the Command of Colonel James Blair Steedman was put into action and moved into the region of western Virginia. This Regiment will later be supporting Svetozar Boroevic in his campaign into Virginia, but please take into consideration that the unit may not arrive for several weeks. Meanwhile, the 1st Ohio Battery was put into action under Captain James McMullin. This unit is to be a supporting unit to the 14th Infantry in its Virginia campaign. Note: Artillery travels at a slower pace, so we can expect the unit to arrive within a few months. Size of the Battery: On the smaller end. More of a Light support unit than a full fledged one. Ohio voted strongly in favor of Lincoln and the Republican party, but the Southern part of Ohio relied on heavy trading with the south and even appealed to many of their practices. The governor of Ohio, William Dennison, agrees to the terms of Delaware. Dennison mobilizes General George McClellan and sends him to defend the Wheeling Convention in Western Virginia, where Union delegate are set to meet and collaborate, this would later lead to the formation of West Virginia. During this time, several large training camps are under construction via the orders of Governor Dennison, where many thousands of volunteers are set to relocate to. Ohio begins to build up its industry and agricultural output, hoping to provide a key stimulus to the war effort. In August of 1861, the 2nd Ohio Battery is sent to the upper region of Missouri under General Fremont. Size of this battery is relatively small. Ohio and its governor are now officially open to talks from its fellow Union States. Read more: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/5765/alternate-history-american-civilwar?page=11#ixzz4j3dkNUI4

António Salazar , Sir, I need your help in moving all posts that are not turns back to the game thread. Shall thy assist us?
Now, it's time for California 1861: We aren't leaving the Union. Much to the relief of the Abolitionists. The country is mostly free of slaves however in South California there are still some people who have slaves. They will be "dealt with" accordingly. Three battalions of cavalry (6000 men) and two divisions of infantry are drafted (40000 men). They are posted along the border. The state has 380000 people living within its borders. However discluding soldiers the number shrinks to 334000. We declare war on the Confederacy. "Anyone who leaves the Union is our enemy and will not be reconciled with until they have been defeated" says the Governor of California. 15000 men are ordered to take the state of Arizona before the Confeds get it's hands on it. Battle of Phoenix, Arizona; I'm guessing around 3000/4000 enemy militia is stationed here (as there are no active troops because it's an NPC). I guess a seven will be more than enough to take Phoenix. GQnRGeni300 died, clear victory, city secured. The next stop is Tucson, AZ. 14700 Union men vs ~4000 Confed militia. 7 is enough. Woah! Union Army is humbled here, 2700 men lost. 12000 men try once more, 6 needed. Resistance has been wiped out, however we lost 5000 men in total during the campaign. 30000 infantry and 6000 cavalry are spread to defend the two states. ·····

It really depends on what you are targeting.
Some go by the major cities, and while in other, more continental games, one would go once per small state. However since this game is focused on the US, where many states would be fought over repeatedly, going a couple times for West Virginia makes sense.
CONSTANTINOPLE STRONK. TAKE MORE THAN ONE BLOWl TAKE OVER 14! (in total not in game)

That's for the TWs, please do remember that. I think in these "North American RPs" like Latin America and the current one, some states (that are big enough) should have that rule (like California or Texas or Florida). We really need to make some kind of a structure for the Alt-Hist games.

Most states should take multiple offensives to clear. There could indeed be exceptions...

Texas 1861
After Lincoln was elected and fellow Southern states left the Union, Texas followed suit, removing Sam Houston from office and putting a pro-Confederacy leader in office. First, 50,000 troops, 4 batallions of cavalry, and 9 light artillery batteries are drafted and stationed on Texas's west frontier, since Texas is safe from the eastern states for now. The few boats Texas has right now are ordered to patrol the Texan coast.
Texas starts to improve its industrial strength and agricultural diversity, to not be so dependent on cotton for income. Orders for 15 ships are put in for Texas's shipyards, with more to come as their shipyards are improved. The Texan government starts cracking down on the pro-Union people in the state, arresting hundreds of proven and suspected Union sympathizers. Railroad tracks are ordered to be laid in parts of the west, to improve transportation of the military to and from the region. Texas decides to ignore little Delaware's offers at peace, since they "...decided to stay with that Negro-loving country...", as one Texan legislatior put it.

LOUISIANA 1861 The Great State of Louisiana rebels against the Northern Yoke. First things first: our new flag. (edit: not like we had many anyway)
Second of all. We Confederates attempt to take control of all union facilities and supplies. Rolling for that. ne0TwdiPWell that didn't go too well. We also wish to increase our industrial potential, sending young men to schools for this purpose. Perhaps they can be indoctrinated that it will complement our southerness rather than turning us into yellow Northerners. Still, its a very long road, and potentially little time for it. We reach out to our western neighbour Antonio Santa Anna for aid and collaboration. The Government reaches out to the Governor of Arkansas, to work together in the defence of the South. Minimum of 15. The Arkansawyer government agrees, and thus the Mississippi River system is more secured. We do the same with Mississippi itself. The roll increases to a minimum of 18. (cancel this if you want Bismarck Jr ) They refuse. Another win for states rights! We declare the need for an army, and 40,000 sign up this year. We also plan to develop 6 Ironclads, and a fleet of over 20 vessels on the northern Riverfronts that are essential for controlling both the region and New Orleans. We begin building forts defending New Orleans and the North, primarily the Mississippi river. We successfully create what will now be known as the Fourth Tier American defense system. Both Fortified regions are strong, with the North taking the lead. ···············
