Listen to Mountbatten's pro strategies and you won't be a noob anymore brother!
Tip 1. Artillery is very effective. Generals should be engaged with field or rocket artillery in most scenarios.
2. Air superiority. The aerial strength is so so so important. It allows you to capture cities from a distance and whenever you have an airport near an objective, it's very valuable.
3. Generals. Many generals in this game are terrible. Luckily we have many threads about starting generals, mid game generals, and end game generals for you to browse at your leisure.
4. Don't be afraid of retreating in conquest. Sometimes an enemy assault is too powerful to stop, so it may be best to retreat to a farther back city and regroup.
5. Make sure Mountbatten is your ally. I assure you he is the best general in the game.

Welcome to our community! Like Herr Mountbatten said, artillery is a game changer here. Try to engage the enemy with artillery in all times. Also with airfield, you could capture city fast enough, but only use the Bomb and Capture tactic in late game. Using that tactic in early game is suicide, you will drain your valuable money which can get you some needed land forces.

Dismiss Ozawa and get Isakov. Don't dismiss Meyer he is extremely good for his price. Save up for Guderian

Which is worse than Ozawa? I know how good Ozawa is (I use him myself) but if saving up for Guderian but still wanting a navy general dismiss him and get isakov

Generals:As I mentioned in another thread..."I bought Govorov first and then Vatutin...They are not too expensive and really strong! Some conquests and most Allie/Axis gold missions later, I bought Badoglio -> He costs only about 1k medals and is really strong (almost like Govorov) and has 170 life, so maybe it´s better to buy him first and Govorov later. After most of NATO and WTO missions, I bought Guderian and Nagano. Hope this helps! " Read more: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/616/spending-medals-academy-generals-commanders#ixzz3oBSt5cpkI don´t think it´s good to spend medals in noob generals with low health. They can make good dmg, but die too easily. Another disadvantage is, that it takes much more efford and way longer to get the top generals like Patton/Guderian/Nimits usw., if you wasted medals. Upgrades: I would take my first ressources to upgarde Artillery and Tank forces to Lv4/5 or something like that. Later I´d alternately upgrade paratrooper forces (personally I stopped upgrading it at Lv7), tank and artillery. Paratrooper upgrade is necessary to get more paratrooper range and also motorized paratroopers (istead of infantry). All the other upgrades are optional (except the late game ion cannon at high lvl).
Wonders: I´d recommend to built wonders for getting more gold first, then steel and then oil. After you´ve built them, just build industrial wonders. Industrial wonders are enormous helpful to gain - surprise - industry, which is the rarest ressource in the game! Never spend medals into trades!!! The only exception is, when you need some industry to build industry wonders (everytime you unlock a industry wonder, just build it to make it more efficient!)
Enjoy playing
