There have been some tragic events in the past and I'm not just talking about Terrorist attacks, but on disasters, on events where people lost their lives or suffered and if you have noticed at times I put posts in the chat board to ask fellow forumers to pay their respects to events (which I have only done one recently) where people lost lives or a tragedy happened. This reflects on our nature and how we notice to other's suffering. Using this emoticon can show that you truly have considered these events and pay respect.
This is definitely NOT political in any way. Please if you can add this emoticon 🕯️, the Candle (symbolically a method of paying respects) then you can show you respects not just to attacks but to individuals who you wish to pay respects and make it aware to other forumers what events have happened. If you believe that this is politicizing the forums then I beg to differ.
But since it is a game forum, I can understand if you do not want to implement it, but hopefully this can be implemented because:
- It raises awareness to events where people have died or have suffered and encourages to understand situations in the world
- Allows forumers to pay their respects to events and individuals (e.g Adam West: the person who played batman for the first time in television and is an iconic figure)
- Just reflects on our humanity
This Poll can show people's opinion on this idea ( I myself will not vote), but do not argue about any specific voters and their votes but if you are arguing, please be humane and not rude nor insensitive

I think we should.

This would be good, so I can pay my respects without being accidentally rude.
Perhaps there are alternative uses for a candle, but that would damage this main one?

Hi, On this page you can find all available features for this forum: www.proboards.com/library/pluginsI couldn't find the candle one you're referring to. Meaning i don't know whether or not this feature is even possible....

Paying your respects is all fine and dandy, but
A.) A forum for easytech games isn't really a good place to do it
B.) You don't need a candle to pay respects. In order to add the candle we'd have to appeal to ProBoards and get them to add it I'm sure.

It can get politically charged at times (at times being usually). A politics forum (hint hit) might be a better place.

I added point A because it seems a little... underwhelming to do anything of this sort here. Everybody is free to do what they want ofc, but I really don't think it's practical.

Yah as was pointed out already our forum mainly covers gaming and also dwells into other light hearted topics.
In many countries people are under a constant deluge of world and national news of the sort that needs "paying respect to", there is a tragedy and misery and suffering in the world on a daily basis, it never stops. So while we shouldnt be indifferent to the suffering of others we already see the news on TV and hear them on the radio and surely dont need more of that here in EFC.
Personally (and to be honest and blunt) I prefer paying respect to good gaming titles like WC3.

We will have a new and expanded set of emoticons sometimes after the new PB upgrade. It might include objects similar to the candle emoticon. I am not necessarily against that, it's just that I just dont want our forum to heavily get involved into these sort of topics as that is not what the great majority of our membership and guests expect to see when they visit our site.
