What is your favorite genre when it comes to games?
Mine is either simulation or strategy, meanung grand strategy (kinda a combination of both) suits me perfectly.
(Note that most games contains multiple (sub)genres)

I'd be sad that I'm the only one to choose RPG, but there isn't many votes.
I also chose Strategy because of course I did.
I assume Retro means modern games meant to act like old ones.

Most of my Steam and GoG Library (outside of some free giveaways a la Payday 2), the games I have on my phone, and the multitude of open-source games on my PC are either Strategy, RPG, or some type of retro-platformer thing I somehow still have. Horror is fulfilled already by SCP, the only good Music games are osu! and Cytus IMO, and I could never get the hang of FPSs, Zelda clones, bullet hells, or arcade games.

If I have to decide, I'd prefer to go by elimination method. It seems that I like more than 3 genres so I can't vote for them all. Still, I'd prefer games that's more focused on each player's skill & management in beating the game. Doing stuff like SOME grinding, (glares at WC3) to obtain better tools/items/equipment that'll help you. In contrast, I feel that in games with PVPs, there are usually IAPs which basically screams, "You just need the best tools put together & nothing else matters! So here's a shortcut, worth only 30 seconds IRL & some $$. " That's what I don't like in games.

I'm a die-hard strategy fan. TBS and RTS all works for me.
