All hail Frederick II of HRE! Now, do you need any Lisowczycy, Pancerni, Husarii? You need them to stop Burgundians sacking Venice in revenge... I may be an extraordinary nation, but there are limits to what I can do. It's probably impossible for my troops to march all the way to Venice. On the other hand, if I travel by sea, there's the Venetian navy to worry about. I want trade with Venice now, not war.

On the other hand, if I travel by sea, there's the Venetian navy to worry about. I want trade with Venice now, not war. Actually a decisive battle in 1509 saw 30,000 Frenchmen march on Venetian territory in Lombardy (not Veneto region but next to it) and destroy half of a 8,000 strong Venetian force. To be fair the French started from Milan, also in Lombardy. Then again, Burgundy actually owns some of 2017 Italy. It did in 1000 anyway. ANYWAY, Byzantium might help Venice defend itself against threats. One could argue I leave a rival to die, but then I have MORE Frenchmen nearby. Not that Byzantium has much trouble with the French, they have been integrated into our society. Those darn Norman invaders though.

I was checking my created provincial list (yet to be released) to see how many men I can muster to attack Cicilian Armenia. This happened. Far from the first time, the censors on this website really hate this Greek Island. Erich von Ludendorff knows what I'm talking about. Samos: Coastal theme in the west stretching from east of *Auto Corrected*s in the north to touching Cibyrrhaeot in the south.

Ummm, Caesar…..so how does Portugal have a standing army of 30,000 and in addition to that a reserve force of 45,000? For these times that's ridiculous. For starters standing armies are rare and those that do exist are typically small. Secondly I doubt Portugal could raise anywhere near that many men in this time period even as levies during wartime. The Siege of Lisbon had Portugal and the crusaders at 20,000 men with only 7,000 being Portuguese. 30,000 is WAAAAAYYYYY to much. My bad. I'll fix that in my newest turn. I just couldn't find anything on their army size at all.

I usually use a 7 for even odds, you got an 8. Thats ok I guess.
Edit: oh yeah, how much longer until the turn is done? I have some things to wrap up, so this isn't a hurry up message.

I am resigning, I don't have time for this game and I've been ill for the past few days which ain't really helping. Thus, the Almohad Caliphate can be given to someone else.

I am resigning, I don't have time for this game and I've been ill for the past few days which ain't really helping. Thus, the Almohad Caliphate can be given to someone else. Dude who? The only two other moslem players are Laurent de Gouvion and Mountbatten. Seeing that Batten is apparently not playing so far, that leaves the Fatimids and he's already fairly formidable. Combined Fatimids/Almohads is going to be a terrifying monster, almost like the Mongol in the TW6. But there's ample Catholics ready to crusade against him on the other hand...

Honestly I'd like if MountBatten switched from Seljuk to Almohad, but of course as said he is not playing apparently.
Reconquista is importante too but I need to retake my lands, if not for the Empire then for its people and the people of Europe.
