Roman Empire 1180/1181.
This the year of our lord 1181. For over 600 years the lords of Europe and Asia have squabbled over the remains of the Roman Empire.
In the west the Roman Empire was torn asunder by Germanic lords, some of whom now name themselves Holy Roman Emperor, with the blessing of the Pope of the Catholic faith.
However, in the eastern corner lies what was once the Eastern Roman Empire. It survived the transition, and despite reverting to the popular Greek language they pride themselves on being Roman. Until recent defeats the Military could claim full links to its ancient Imperial heritage.
The Great Emperor Justinian and his noble general Belisarius reclaimed much of the west including Rome, but this did not last, with the last Italian domains falling decades ago.
Even worse, while Asia was always threatened by Persia, a new faith called Islam was born and it quickly devestated the tired empire, with most of Asia and all of Africa falling to them.
While the Balkans were damaged by the arrival of German and Slav, it remains strong with the ancient Danube Border reclaimed. However it has been more than a hundred years since Anatolia, homeland to the Greeks for 2 millenniums, has been mostly lost to the arrival of the Turk, a converted muslim people.
The story is not all gloom however, far from it. These are the years of the Kommenian restoration.
The First Emperor, Alexios I Komnenos threw back Norman invaders in Greece from the lost Italy, and called the First Crusade, allowing the retaking of Islands and western Asia Minor. He also defeated 80,000 nomads from the North-East. Not to mention making some Crusaders vassals.
John II Komnenos continued the retaking of Anatolia, while crushing the Pecheneg barbarians so heavily they ceased to exist.
Finally, Manuel I The Great game to rule. He made the Hungarians a vassal after defeating them in Sirmium (Roman Serbia) and thus Roman rule in the Balkans the strongest since....Rome.
He also was a great lover of western culture, introducing such practices as the Joust, and while he is currently unable to end the rift between the Churches he is at least close.
The Army and navy of Rome has regained its power, from nearly non-existent to the equal of any neighbour.
Unfortunately 5 years ago a Allied Roman-Hungarian-Antioch army was defeated by the Turks at Myriokephalon, but recent victories prove that Rome can still fight at equal terms.
While the Emperor is sick, the Empire sends delegates to attempt to mend fences with the Cicilian Armenians. I'm going to say a roll of 18.
JXV1ub2g
The discussions go ok, but they still eye our lands. Rolling for whether war breaks out.

Portugal 1181 (Under Afonso I)
Economy: With Afonso I's new military/economic plan, the average man owns less, but the state owns more. People are beginning to complain, but more church services available encourage people to work harder. The government sponsors the churches and tells them to preach about the sanctity of the government.
Military: 30,000 active duty 45,000 reserves
That's about it...

Venice and Hungary 1181/1182 The next two years are spent mainly by The Doge consolidating his power. He forms two new elite organisations, the Guardia Republicana and the Lega delle Ombre. The Guardia is an elite unit of the Republic that serve as bodyguards to the Doge (I base them off of the Varangian Guard). Its members are recruited from across Europe and they are paid well. They are some of the best warriors in the known world due to its strict recruitment parameters. The Lega (or League) is a secretive order of highly trained assassins, spies and thieves. Their mere existence is known only by a select few other than those within their ranks. Like the Guardia they serve the Doge and recruit its members from around the known world however unlike the Guardia, members are only recruited if they are directly contacted by current members. The Lega controls a fortified island located somewhere remote in the Adriatic which it uses as a base. The island is referred to as La Roccia however its exact location is unknown. With the unexpected death of the Holy Roman Emperor, Venice decides that an Emperor friendly to Venice is essential for the Republic’s interests. Venice pours its considerable wealth and other more shady methods into the campaign of Duke Frederick of Verona who with a near unanimous vote is elected to be the King of the Romans and is to be coronated Holy Roman Emperor by the Pope. Venice continues to establish trading posts along the Adriatic Coastlines. With the blessing of Sultan Salah Ad-Din a new bank, the Bank of Alexandria is established in Egypt. This new bank are expected to increase both Venice and Egypt’s wealth. The nearby Patria del Friuli is experiencing internal strife. Their rulers had become corrupt and tyrannical, imprisoning all who opposed them. The citizens of Aquileia appeal to nearby rulers for aid and Venice leaps at the opportunity. The Doge requests the Emperor’s permission to place Aquileia under the “Protection” of Venice, which is granted. Venice then marches the 5,000 strong Guardia Republicana into Aquileia where it meets rebel troops hoping to aid Venice in “freeing” Aquileia. The troops march into the city of Aquileia where the Patriarchate and its few loyalist attempt to hold out. I need a four or higher for a victory: KFo|n9y8The Guardia and its allies easily crush the defenders. Venice sends an offical to help establish Venice's power in the region however not all of Aquileia and the surrounding regions people welcome Venice. A group of bandits attack the Venician official, killing him and his entourage. Shortly afterwards a group of mercenaries besiege the city of Aquileia in order to force the Venician's out. I need a 6 or higher to break the siege. Venician forces fail to break the siege. The mercenaries then attempt to enter the city itself and defeat the venicians. A 6 or higher will be a Venician victory. The Guardia is forced out of Aquileia and retreats to Verona. Venice raises more troops to deal with this which meet the Guardia in Verona and begin planing a counterattack. Order of Battle: Venetian Army (Professional Standing Army): Guardia Republicana: 5,000 Venetian Army (Levies): 10,000 raised and in Verona Venetian Navy: 100 Great Galleass 100 Galleys 20 Cogs Tag Antonio Santa Anna (my turn is done) ·····

WARS 1182. The Armenian people, as of this date, have lived in North East Anatolia for 1,700 years or more. Unfortunately, after being absorbed by the Byzantine Empire, the Seljuk Turks invaded Armenia. These combined events resulted in many Armenians leaving what was until 1045 Bagratid Armenia, and settling in Cilicia, a south-east Anatolian region previously owned by the Byzantine Empire. More and more they refuse to follow the Emperor, despite the rich history of Byzantine Armenians. More unfortunately, the wrath of the Empire must now fall upon them, for they have provoked a war. Or rather, the Empire defends. A Armenian army of over 10,000 men invade the Seleucia Theme, and find themselves opposing a Imperial army 15,000 strong. The Horse archers, heavy cavalry, and infantry of the Roman army prepare to fight. Rolling a 6 because we are on the defensive. iD8CL62c The Initial assault fails, and the Imperial army attempts to overwhelm the Armenian formations. Rolling for a 5 now. I'll say the fight is a success, with -4,000 Armenians being defeated or otherwise become unable to fight. They then wisely decide to retreat while they still can. Say 1,000 Romans suffer the same fate. COUNTERINVASION (comings soon) The Imperial Army invades western Cilicia, with the Armenians giving battle at Tarsus. Assuming they give battle at restored numbers, and my victorious army is about the same size. Still a 6. The Advantage is given to the Armenians, and 1,000 Roman troops face the blade. We try to regain the initiative, minimum of 7. Considerable defeat, but as usual the Imperial force is skilled at disgaging. TERRITORIAL CHANGES. None, the Romans defend their borders but are run out of Cilicia. The Romans suffer 6,000 losses, while the Armenians suffer -8,000. ·······

Ayyubid Sultanate 1182
The bandits of the Sultanate are all but finished. Merchant caravans are somewhat impregnable. Not that any band if bandits exist in the land that have the ability to raid. With the coffers replenished from trade and reform of tax collection, and the archery fatwa raising the possible number of men raised, Saladin seeks to expand the Sultanate, deeper into Syria and Mesopotamia.
However, Salah al-Din himself is still treaty-bound to the Zengid Emirs of Mosul, Aleppo, and Iraq. To that end, a disgruntled faction of Hashasins, led by a man named Hassan, agree to remove the current leader, Rashid ad-Din Sinan, for peace and support (along with a generous gift of some gold). Salah al-Din, by many of his agents, place a contract on the Zengids Izz-ad-Din and Imad ad-Din. Hassan is then appointed to conduct the assassination, and with secret messages from Salah al-Din, establish an Ayyubid spy network in Mosul and Aleppo. Let's see if they can into kill. 5 for 1, 7 for 2.
eJ1W|NgU
A success! Both men are publicly murdered, striking fear and anarchy into their regions. Saladin promptly raises an army of 20,000 (2,000 Mamlukes, 7,500 Horse Archers, 1,500 Noble Shock Cavalry, 7,000 Archers, 2,000 dismounted spearmen. Well-trained, majority veterans from the Libyan contingent). The army marches deep into Syrian territory, offering "protection" to the lands of the former Zengid Emirs.
While most accept gracious Saladin's protection, several prominent citizens oppose. Let's see if the already-established spy networks could do anything about that.
Mosul
Aleppo
Aleppo opens its gates, yet some voices in Mosul oppose. No matter. The army moves to lay siege on Mosul. Before any significant action occurs, a representative from the Caliph is sent to negotiate a peace. The dissenters continue refusing Ayyubid conquest. So be it. Salah al-Din's agents inside Mosul fire arrows at Saladin's camp and the negotiation grounds. Thankfully not hitting anyone, the incident gives a cause for a siege.
First, the Ayyubids respond in kind. A skirmish at the city walls.
The defenders are forced off the walls. Any opposing noble is either thrown out of the city or killed, and Mosul opens its gate to Ayyubid conquest.
Seeing the Ayyubid conquest, Kukbary, the Emir of Harran, swears fealty to Saladin and invites the glorious Sultan to a conquest of Mesopotamia. Before bringing his force to bear, Salah al-Din gives an ultimatum to the Emirs: swear fealty, and they shall be gifted holdings, security, and wealth (of course, along with good ol' blackmail). How many accept?

Burgundy 1182: With the death of the current Capet King and royal marriage between Burgundy and Capets, a union between the two nations is formed. With Duke of Burgundy leading the Union, it's apparent that dissidents and rebels will rise up to restore Capet rule. Rolling dice to see how strong the rebel army will be:(1-3:Weak, 4-6:Equal size, 7-9:Strong, 10-12:Very strong): f9aQ1sty Whew, enemy opposition isn't too strong! They are slightly larger than us. The Burgundine army numbering: 30,000 militia 14,000 men-at-arms 3,000 horsemen 3,000 archers 500 Knights 100 catapults 75 trebuchets
Faces an enemy army numbering: Approx. 65,000
Both forces march toward each other determined to crush their enemy in open battle. The opposing armies finally meet each other about 50 kilometers from Paris. Orders are given to prepare for battle on both sides, and the battle starts off with a bang!
The trained and veteran troops of Burgundy form up in disciplined ranks and dig in for defense. The larger enemy force of rebels under uncertain and shaky leadership prepares to charge.(1-3 Enemy attack total failure, 4-6 Enemy attack failure, 7-9 Enemy attack minimally successful, 10-12 enemy attack minor success. Odds in my favor due to shaky enemy leadership).
The enemy charge fails to any major damage and they fall back to their line. Our forces still stand strong and are eager for blood. A counter charge is called for and our forces surge forward in an all out attack.(1-3:Teeeny tiny success, 4-6:Success, enemy has taken casualties, 7-9:The enemy is badly bloodied, 10-12: Enemy lines have broken and they start running for their sorry lives).
Success! Enemy has taken casualties. But we seek to destroy the rebels so our forces are ordered to keep at it. (Rolling dice, same conditions as before). It's a total victory for us! The rebels have been slaughtered and many have run away. Most of the rebelling nobles and Knights who were captured are tortured for information and then executed.
We have won the day and our fallen will be remember for posterity. A mass grave is dug for all the brave souls who have lost their lives this day. Some 9,000 of our troops are buried alongside 30,000 rebel troops. The families of our fallen are given compensation in gold and land. Orders are given for the army to break up into 4 groups(of around 10,000 each) and march around our newly won territories. They are to secure the land from foreign incursions, further rebellions, and public unrest. Propaganda is spread, bribes are given, executions are done, and speeches are given by the Duke to peacefully integrate Capet lands into our own. Burgundy and Capet are renamed as the Union of Burgundy or Greater Burgundy.
Army: 24,000 militia (2,000 KIA, 2,000 wounded and will recover, 1,000 disabled) 13,000 men-at-arms(500 KIA, 300 wounded and will recover, 200 disabled) 3,000 horsemen(400 KIA, 300 wounded and wil recover, 300 disabled) 3,000 archers 500 knights +5,000 Capet Knights who swear fealty to the Duke, +2,000 bribed to our side from the rebels 100 catapults 75 trebuchets
Remaining troops: 21,000 militia +39,000 trained by next year 12,300 men-at-arms +22,700 recruited by next year 2,300 horsemen +10,200 recruited by next year 3,000 archers +9,500 recruited by next year 5,500 Knights 100 catapults +100 built by next turn 75 trebuchets +25 built by next turn
Fleet: 48 Galleys (+7 next turn) 35 cogs (+15 next turn)
All disabled troops are to receive a small pension, some rations of food, and land for the well being of their families from the Duke.
The coffers of the kingdom are depleted after bribing the Capets onto our side. An emergency tax is levied. Rolling to check people's happiness(1-4:Rebellion!, 5-6:Very Unhappy, 7-8:Unhappy, 9-10:Happy, 11-12:Very Happy).
Damn the people! Rebellion it is! Our army is gathered and sent to the major sources of civil unrest. The dissenters are asked to disperse peacefully. Rolling,(1-6:Nope! We wanna get whooped, 7-9:Only some leave peacefully, 10-11: Majority of the public leave peacefully, 12:Everyone leaves peacefully)
Some of the people begin dispersing peacefully so the army is ordered to hold back. The remaining public are asked again are given an hour to disperse. Rolling dice,(1-4:Nah we have a death wish, 5-8:Half the people disperse, 9-11:Majority of public disperse, 12:Everyone leaves)
Well, almost 75% of the people have left. The army is ordered to march on the remaining people and imprison them. Many are executed in public to set an example and the rest are released. This sets an example to the people and nation is at peace once more.

Angevins 1182 Political part
The most significant event of year 1182 AD for Henry II was the signing of the Rouen-Dijon Treaty.
The terms: The Burgundians formally recognize the suzerainty of the Angevins in return for the formal recognition of the internal ruling rights within both their older Burgundia amd the newly acquired Lorraine and the freshly inherited Capetian lands. In accordance with the proper ascension of the ducal and comital power vested within the person of Henry II of England and Francia, he is crowned and granted in him the full regal domain of temporal power and is given the privilege of adminstrating directly over the personal domain-lands of the Frankish King known as Ile-de-France. Hugh III of Burgundy swears fealty to his king over his domains which is Henry II. A formal and mutually supporting, full fledged military alliance is also established between the Angevins and the Burgundians.
Henry II marches into the city of Paris with a large revenue of forty thousands men. Minor grumbling and murmurs is sparked and some few dozens of unruly riffraff is thrown into the local jails for disturbing the peace. The economic development is presently encouraged by the directive of Henry II. As it turns out, not only the vast Duchy of Aquitaine contains many fertile vineyards but also excellent farms, verdant forests and rich iron deposits being mined. The weapon merchants are encouraged to join the King's guild in joint venture with the guild of blacksmiths, combining the two halves of the weaponry industry together to produce greater quantities of better quality.
The King of Francia raises a new bundle of levies all over the Angevin holdings in Francia for a fresh army of 100,000 soldiers, composting of foot soldiers, archers, professional mercenaries, knights and lords. The men undergoes training to accommodate the battle hardened veterans of the older levies.
No king of Francia had held so much land or power since Charlemagne until Europe now can behold the splendid magnificence of Henry II.

Angevins 1183 (sorry for the overdue turn, Antonio Santa Anna , here it is!)
Revolts in the Realms
Henry II the newly crowned faces potential revolts outside his securely held territories. Rolling for each various vassals held indirectly in his hands...especially those granted to Prince John...*sigh* Lordship of Ireland/Norman Ireland (John): need a 11 or worse 2inOTZ8nGot a 17, no rebels (yet). Then for sake of simplicity, 3 will be representing the more quasi-independent, requiring higher rolls, need a 12 or worse Connaught (Rory O'Connor): Munster (O'Brien, MacCarthy, O'Kennedy): Ulster (O'Neill): Got ... 12, 7, 10, All three revolted, ayiyiyi... Scotland (William I, held in place by the Treaty of Falaise): need a 6 or worse Got a 14, the good ol' Scot-boys are behaving today. *pat* Wales: need a 9 or worse Got a 11, Whew... a bit of unrest, but no open revolt is happening. Duchy of Berry: need a 9 or worse Got a 18, Good... I fought for you against Louis VII for like nearly a whole decade of scheming, backdoor fighting, and outright fighting. STAY with me, man. Don't make this harder than it has to be. You, you stupid duchy with your people wavering back and forth between the Angevins and Capets. Duche de Barry... STAY with me. *glares* County of Toulose (Raymond V, may fleas forever give him company, damn him): need a 11 or worse Got a ... 15? Wow, well... Raymond... Raymond... *sigh* Raymond... I suppose I have to be grateful that I don't have to send my son to punish you yet once more for your insolence, don't I? You know what? If it wasn't for the Irish drunks going wild on their little island and their petty kingdoms trying to upstage me... I could easily come straight south and finish what I started for once and all, lousy unloyal comte, pandering to the pathetic Parisan court instead of the far richer and more extravagant Chinonian court. Ugh! Just you wait! I will come for you soon enough! Just you wait and see what shall befall you! Curse Raymond V, may his fleas bite harder on his rotten flesh!
The 1183 Expedition to Ireland (or The Second Landing of Henry II)
Making the very same historical arrival at Waterford twelve years ago, Henry II brings along a force of 2,000 knights and 7,000 men-at-arms this time, intending to overwhelm any enemy with near-absolute certainty by sheer numbers. In the clear view of the relatively large amassed force, the Normans and the Irish are beckoned to attend to their King. The fair and mighty lords who held lands in the South and the East reaffirmed their fealty to the King who came once again to them from across the seas and beyond. The loyal nobility were granted a pension of gratitude in gold and the reiterated promises of overlordship's protection upon the vassal lords, granting them a boon where they may send for a representative straight to Paris, Chinon, or London, wherever Prince John or his father may be found, or be approached in person without an intermediate representative. The personal army of Henry II (supplemented some more by 1,000 of the local knights in addition) moves north to Dublin shortly in preparation to assault the most conveniently located rebellion leading man, the stubborn king of Ulster, O'Neill. The O'Neills may be fairly numerous by the standards of the Irish, but against the Normans, they stand at a mere 500-strong. Pathetic... Even only a roll of 4 would be sufficient for a victory, and a 5 to crush them flat under the hooves. Got a 8! The O'Neills are said to be broken and abased at this day in this year, our good King Henry II has conquered! The Earldom of Ulster is permanently affixed under the control of de Courcy. See to it that it doesn't happenstance to fall out of your control this time! The strongest of the Irish rebels, next... Rory O'Connor, the self-titled so-called "High King of Ireland" faces off with his own miniature army of 280 Irish knights and 1,100 foot soldiers plus an emergency levy of 3,200 untrained peasants. Battle of Galway (need a 5 for a win, but 7 or better for much greater effect to work) Got a 10! I suppose some minor casualties were expected, 400 is wounded or dead on my side. Rory O'Connor was captured, had his limbs broken under a wagon wheel, then after left lying in a cell for a night, beheaded at the light of dawn then finally thrown over a cliff in pieces. There will NOT be a "High King of Ireland" from this day. Only Henry II and his appointed one will be allowed to be acknowledged as the Lord of Ireland. If there be any whisper of a so-called "High King", he shall be banished from the entire island, left to starve in a foreign land somewhere yonder over the seas. Desperate, the trio who squabbled over the question who gets to rule over Munster finally reconciles their differences and made a desperate last stand in hope of resisting Henry II and the Normans just for one more day, one more forenight, one more year, in hope of holding onto their own crumb of the cookie called Ireland. The clans (not only just O'Brien, MacCarthy, O'Kennedy, but also some of the smaller clans who took the wrong side) gathers up a troop of four thousand men, not all are able to stand and fight well, but nonetheless they have heart. They stand 4,000 against 9,600. Battle of Cork (Need a 5 for a win at least, but 7 for a more complete victory, the enemy is larger, yes but even less trained) Got a 9, quite excellent, just not quite satisfying as beating up Rory Ol'... pity... Munster falls now to me. Henry II appoints some of the knights to become local lords over the fiefs granted in Ireland then departs to London. In there, Henry II crowns himself as the Emperor of Britannia, supreme overlord of all British, Welsh, Gaelic, and Scotish isles combined. Prince John is of course still the appointed Lord of Ireland with the appropriate title and powers. LONG LIVE, HENRY THE FIRST, EMPEROR OF BRITANNIA!! ·····································

Ayyubid Sultanate 1183
With the Mesopotamian and Syrian Emirs swearing fealty to Salah al-Din, the Ayyubid Sultanate has become one of the most powerful Muslim realms. Salah al-Din seeks to expand again - Iraq, under Seljuks and the Caliphate; Arabia, under the Hashemites in Hejaz and various tribes in other places, and Almohad Tripoli. Networks of spies had previously been established in Syria, with some success. The same spies plan to establish another in Baghdad, and any Ayyubid loyalist in the Caliph's court are exerted for this effort, to gain the Caliph's ear. Guards and other members of court are bribed to ensure loyalty - see how well this succeeds. JF7M94ES A decent network is made in Baghdad, to say for the least. Salah al-Din has more grip on court than any other faction, yet it is a precarious one. With the internal strife in the Almohad Caliphate, Salah al-Din offers the Emirs of Almohad Tripolitania and Tunisia to fall under Ayyubid protection, along with a 10,000 man contingent to sweeten the offer, of course. I suppose >17 for them to surrender both, >15 for Tripolitania. Ah! The stubborn Emirs refuse to surrender. Though some in their courts listen to reason, the emirs are unconvinced .
[reserved battle stuff]
Anyway.... a random caravan is randomly attacked by Ayyubid-hired swords. 6 for success.
The raid on the caravan succeeds, and some are taken prisoner by the brigands. Those unimportant are silenced.
A few weeks after, Sultan i-Rum Kilij Arslan II demands to know the location of his daughter, coming from his husband's Nur al-Din's holdings to visit his father. Nur al-Din denies any knowledge. When he is away, some troops plan to secretly put a certain woman in Nur al-Din's dungeons. 6 for success I suppose?
A resounding success! The daughter of the Sultan i-Rum and the wife of Nur al-Din lies in his dungeon. Saladin commands a search of Nur al-Din's property, and shockingly finds the Sultan's daughter in his dungeons. The guards are said to have resisted, and unfortunately died resisting. Just Salah al-Din imprisons Nur al-Din for this, though he denies involvement.
Kilij Arslan demands Nur al-Din's surrender to Rum, probably for summary execution. Salah al-Din reminds the Sultan of his obligation as Nur al-Din's liege and justice, refusing to hand him over. Salah al-Din offers a seat at Nur al-Din's trial, yet the Sultan keeps his demands. Will war happen?
Ah, it does (note: I wanted war). Kilij leads a force to free his daughter, 25,000 strong I guess. They raid several villages in Syria, and Salah al-Din's leads his army of 20,000 (2,000 Mamlukes, 7,500 Horse Archers, 1,500 Noble Shock Cavalry, 7,000 Archers, 2,000 dismounted spearmen.), with promised reinforcements (approx. 8,000) from the local emirs. Will a pitched battle happen, and in favorable terrain? (OOC note: this will also account for harassment actions before battle.)
Salah al-Din finds a rather favorable hill to stand, and the Rum army has been rather harassed. The armies meet near Raqqa, I guess?
The plan is simple: force an attack from the Sultan, and counter-attack when reinforcements arrive. Horse-archers move to provoke Rum's cavalry to give chase, and obviously other horse archers.
The Horse Archers are rather successful, and the opposing cavalry charge into them. Mamluks rush to engage these horse archers. Foot archers fire upon the horse archers. Will the Mamluks force an engagement with the opposing cavalry?
An equal engagement happens among the cavalry. I suppose that's the majority of a Rum army, considering. With the cavalry engaged, Kukbary leads the spearmen against the Rum infantry, along with some archers. Rolling for impact.
The charge shocks Rum infantry. Reinforcements are coming from the Emirs. I suppose more dice, more reinforcements.
4,000, a mix of spear and horse arrive. The horse are sent to charge Rum's infantry flanks, and the spearmen maneuver to their rear. Rolling for charge impact I guess. This should be pretty devastating on its own.
I would suppose that to be an acceptable charge, considering the way it was set. Let's see if the infantry can be routed. 5.
A part (approx. 1/3) of the infantry are surrounded, and the rest rout, badly disorganized. The full reinforcements arrive, and the cavalry splits in two, for the pursuit and the cavalry engagement. Infantry moves to the cav engagement, and archers fire upon the routing inf.
Cavalry engagement. 4.
Pursuit
The reinforcements win the cav engagement, but they retreat still in good order. The pursuit garners more Rum casualties. Of the cavalry, 1,500 are lost on our side and 2,500 on theirs. Infantry losses are fairly light (200), and half of the Rum infantry are lost.
Salah al-Din leads a raiding party into Rum, and demands the Caliph to mediate peace. With spy networks in Baghdad, a peace council will happen next year.

Wishing to reunite Poland before he dies, Kazimierz II writes to the Pope, Innocent III, for him to be crowned King of Poland. (tagging Antonio Santa Anna for permission) Fine.
