What form do you think they'll take in they try to enter the forum? Or you this forum too much for bots to even invade? Feel free to say anything about bots. PS: No more reference back to Robert E. Lee or whatever stuff that's happening elsewhere in the forum.

ProBoards (the site that hosts the forum) has a system in place called FunCaptcha that you have to pass in order to register to a PB site. Us humans are obligated to pass it which a bot cannot (the test are all logical) pass. So no, the boys can never invade the site.

How did those bots keep popping outta nowhere on Youtube? Or is this FunCaptcha better? Or is Youtube allowing bots in occasionally (just a random thought)?

If a bot wanted to post here, it'd have to be as a guest. Several months ago, guest posting was disabled as a counter measure to spam.

So far the bots hasn't been able to overcome the captchas. I'm not too worried, unless a brand-new generation of bots arise tomorrow and plugs us into the Matrix lol.

The captcha system is also preventing some humans from registering too 😯
My understanding is that PB has changed that system a few times to counter the ever more sophisticated bots but it's a fine balance,if the system is too aggressive on bots it will also stop some humans too.
We actually have a few guest bots in the forum on a regular basis (as most major sites on the internet do as well) but these bots simply crawl our site for data mapping for the main search engines like google and yahoo.

The wording is probably not exactly right,EFC is not a big site we are just a specialized niche gaming forum but we still reach half a million page views a month and that's worthwhile enough for the search engines bots to crawl on a regular basis.
