I am looking for some good generals, for which should I save up? Currently I am in the medieval age.
The only general I have bought is khalid because of the siege weapon, and is it worth upgrading him to a balista? Also I have upgraded Alexander and Robin Hood to 2 stars.

Firstly, there are numerous generals that do not require medals to obtain. Such as Joan of Arc, Abraham Lincoln, Saladin and Babarossa that should be available to unlock. Try to aim for these gens first. A) Joan is good for her Heal and anti-arty skills B) Saladin has logistics which inprove survivability and his assault master is good C)Babarossa can strengthen infantry allies while debuffing enemies, Lincoln... you don't really need him. Next, save up medals. Try to limit medal spending to save up for good gens and stuff later on. Meanwhile, do not upgrade Cleopatra, Robin, Leonidas, Hannibal and Huo QuBing anymore be it in skills or gen age. However, start thinking long-term. Consider what battle formation you want before obtaining more gens. Your play style may not fit the gens you buy so to avoid wastage, think on this. All things considered, I'd recommend getting Saladin, Joan and Babarossa first. Edit: Do not upgrade Cleopatra is you upgraded Khalid, one of them should only move on to Empire, not both of them. |

Consider saving up for Nobunaga, an age 3 archer general, widely considered to be pretty good.

Just before I read those posts I got Joan and I am now working on Barbarossa. I wasnt planning on upgrading any other troops, but I read on a post that you should upgrade those 2 gens to 2stars though. I do want a balanced lineup so which general should I buy first (with medals/gold)?

Barbarossa is good, maybe better than Alexander at 6 stars. Anyways, I think Saladin you should get around empire age. Nobunga is the first buy for balanced. You'll have to wait until empire age to get him though.

Li Shimin you can avoid buying for a while- Cleopatra is decent for earlier missions.

Depends, do you want a boost to damage while debuffing enemies (Khalid) OR a VERY VERY low chance at paralysing the enemy while able to deal area damage (Cleopatra)? You should pick one. Note: later after you get Nobunaga and other important people, you'll have to replace this arty gen with Li Shimin. |

Yeah I wanted to upgrade it for more damage, health and the range, but I didnt know if it is worth doing so. I am stuck atm, so upgrading Cleopatra might help me though.

Do it. You need the power and range to destroy tougher castles. Just watch how much you spend on her skills if you do spend medals on skills.

How I see these kind of games is the only limitation is time. So if you want you can get all generals if you are patient.. Investing medals in no end game generals means in the end time. Loss.. so taken in account this idea i would recommend only jnvesting in the end game generals.. cleo and khalid are definitely no end game generals |
