Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if it is a better long-term strategy to spend medals on generals bought from academies or on tutorials for your commanders from the academies? is one more cost effective than the other?
Also, for the commanders, what should be prioritized: stars, health or abilities (what are the best abilities)?
Lastly (sorry for all the questions) I'm kinda stuck at cold war no.4 with 1000 medals. I made some mistakes with spending of medals early on (didnt rush guederian), may be able to scavenge a few more medals, what should i do to get through?
Thanks a lot in advance

I'll just address the first one: according to everyone else on this board, it's better in the long run to recruit generals directly from the academies instead of upgrading your own (cheaper). Go with that one.

Dont feel as if you truly need to rush Guderian, there are plenty of other good generals out there. I would suggest building up a strong HQ first, filled with generals like Chung, Meyer, and Ozawa. Then later on you can get Guderian. Its extremely hard to progress by not having anyone.
For commanders you should prioritize stars and abilities. Each ones are valued differently for each unit, there are other threads for that though.
for medals, you could build medal wonders which give medals over time, and complete the crossed sswordmissions. Do not try to rush this lol, its sort of a long term thing if you dont spend money. I know.
there will probably be other useful replies soon

Thanks a lot in advance 1) It is much more economical to hire generals from academies. Top generals from academy cost around 3,000 medals while training eye-covered generals from scratch costs 14,000+ medals. 2) You should give priority on stars and skills as they cannot be trained further. Health, on the other hand can be upgraded. Regarding good skills, you may want to check this. european-war-4.boards.net/thread/228/building-perfect-generals-world-conqueror 3) Not rushing for Guderian is not a big deal. Spending some medals for nice starting generals is a good idea too. And as Freeloader mentions, upgrading troops at HQ early on is a big help. In my opinion, it is more important than getting one top general as it affects all of your troops.

I bought Govorov first and then Vatutin...They are not too expensive and really strong! Some conquests and most Allie/Axis gold missions later, I bought Badoglio -> He costs only about 1k medals and is really strong (almost like Govorov) and has 170 life, so maybe it´s better to buy him first and Govorov later. After most of NATO and WTO missions, I bought Guderian and Nagano. Hope this helps!
