I notice there are 2 medal types earned. The normal gold then there's a blue ring one but no medal. Is this worth more? What's the difference and how are they achieved!

I think you mean blue shields. With 3 or 4 you can buy a tier 2 general, with 6 or 8 you can buy a tier 3 general

You earn shields completing certain campaigns (imperial eagle, eastern overlord and sun never sets, I think). So the maximum is 4. If you want a tier 3 general you have to buy shields with REAL MONEY

Furthermore, medals can buy you items, while emblems cannot.

Yup. Got all that. I'm actually grinding for medals in the American campaign as Poland. When getting the medals. You normally see the regular golden medal with the golden shine around it. Sometimes I notice a blue shine and no medal. But it flashes and fads the same as the regular medals. Perhaps this is when a star is awarded?

In the academy at headquarters tab, you only see 6/4/2 generals (depending on the tier level) each time, and you have to reroll/refresh the academy to see new ones. For every enemy you kill, you get a certain percent of a refresh, and when you get 100%, it turns into a refresh for you to use. Also, killing generals gives you more % of a refresh than normal soldiers, so keep that in mind when you're frantically refreshing the academy to find certain generals. |
