How much money should you invest into WC3 and/or EW4 to really be able to win most things easily?

For EW4 I say $2.00 for the general slots. WC3 I say none. It seems very friendly to getting started without purchases

But in the end, I bought all slots in EW4 so that I can keep all of my princesses (harem?). Maybe I should do another full campaign run with Kate (on arty), Maria, Fatima, Sakurako, and some weak generals so that I would feel like a new player on more time. |
