Hello, I believe this will be one of my first threads! Anyone can participate in this. You just list how long the country was around, and a flag of it. A map as well.(no offensive flags like Nazi flag or Confederate or ANY thing deemed offensive). So I will start with 2( I apologise if there is a thread like this one) EDIT can be from any period of history! Qing Dynasty 1644-1912 The Qing Dynasty controlled China, Mongolia and Parts of modern Russia, however losing these provinces to the Russian Empire.

Swedish Empire, 1611-1721 .org/] .org/] The swedish Empire was a northern power, it controlled the Baltic, and parts of Norway. The empire ceased to exist as a powerful empire after it was defeated by the Russians in the Great Northern War. The results made Russia the dominant northern power.

Spanish Empire, 1492-1975 .org/] .org/] Being one of the first countries to venture to America, Spain received a large empire as a result, defeating Aztecs and other natives to claim lands. Eventually declining to stronger European powers like Britain and France, it however managed to have a very powerful empire at it's peak.

.org/image/5167q98vd/] .org/] I've always like the Kazakhstan flag. It declared it's independence from the Soviet Union in December of 1991. It was the last Soviet republic to do so and almost has a population of 18 million nowadays.

.org/] The Republic of Mozambique declared independence from Portugal in 1975. It's country is poor, though it does have tons of natural resources. Fun fact: I once represented Mozambique in a Model United Nations conference and jokingly declared war on North Korea!

Ottoman Empire 1299-1922/23 .org/] .org/] A empire which at a time was very powerful. It conquered much of Southern Europe(Balkans) and at a time even threatened Vienna. After it was defeated from trying to take Vienna, the empire slowly declined and was never a threat to Europe again. Collapsed after WW1 due to harsh allied treaty dealing with the ottomans, eventually the modern Turkish state emerged after a independence war was fought.

Mongol Empire, 1206-1368 .org/] .org/] The Mongol empire was the 2nd largest empire(second to Britain). It managed to make the largest land contiguous empire in history, their fearsome mounted archers overwhelming many opponents. They were also known for their brutality. Their empire did not last long and fractured into smaller states.

The flag of Mexico (Spanish: Bandera de México) is a vertical tricolour of green, white, and red with the national coat of arms charged in the center of the white stripe. While the meaning of the colors has changed over time, these three colors were adopted by Mexico following independence from Spain during the country's War of Independence, and subsequent First Mexican Empire. The form of the coat of arms was most recently revised in 1968, but the overall design has been used since 1821, when the First National Flag was created..org/image/hgozxyh0z/]

People are very mistaken about who was the rulers of it, it originally was Lithuanian country, Poles got to ruling a lot later.
