Ben Harrison, one of the presidents between Lincoln and TR that nobody remembers But I'll give a quote and a fun fact, because U.S presidents are what I'm good at. Fun Fact: He promised to give pensions to U.S Civil War vets, which essentially won him the 1888 election. As he promised, he signed a bill into law which gave a pension to all former Union vets of the Civil War. This would result in young girls marrying these 50 or 60 year old men because the girls wanted their pensions when their husbands died. Quote: Great lives never go out; they go on.

6 western states were added to the Union during his administration but yeah according to the Wikipedia the historians consensus is his presidency was ranked below average.

6 western states were added to the Union during his administration but yeah according to the Wikipedia the historians consensus is his presidency was ranked below average. He did some good stuff like giving pensions to Civil War vets and also signing into law the McKinley Tariff (Named after William McKinley, the representative, and later 25th president, who formulated the tariff and pushed for its passage), which essentially raised tariffs to the point where foreign manufacturers essentially stopped exporting to the U.S. This was good for American industry as it essentially removed all foreign competition in the U.S, which helped contribute to the massive growth of American companies and businessmen. And, he signed into law the Sherman Antitrust Act which was one of the major landmark achievements in controlling monopolies in the United States. Other than that stuff though, kinda forgettable in terms of achievements. He tried to help out blacks in the South, but unfortunately no dice. His presidency did result in Grover Cleveland becoming the only president with two non-consecutive terms though, so that at least is good for him.
