I don't have any good arc gen. What should I buy?
I already have Cath, Robin, Montez.
Do I need to buy anyone else?
Li Hongzhang, Nobunaga or anyone else? I can't not buy Wash due to lack off Visa card.

You have to buy Nobunaga, Li and Nelson (or at least upgrade Jhansi). In this team Cath and Mocte will be more useful than on its own... |

Jhansi has plunder on lvl 6 (15% life regen after killing enemy). She has also archer commander and inspiration, which can raise her attack, and she's also gray (the lowest level), which means her abilities are cheap to upgrade.
In short, when at least moderately equipped she is quite good, and certainly very useful with Robin, Catherine, Montezuma.
But to be able to finish the game (Industrial campaigns, empire mode battles, etc.) you will have to have only the best generals (i.e. Nelson, Nobunaga, Li, if you decide for archer lineup).

Your Generals are the problem, they are much too weak, like said above invest in Nobunaga and Nelson, if aiming for archery lineup get Yi Sun Sin too, as armor master is amazing when upgraded.

If you made it this far with a weaker bunch of gens, then good job. Catherine is there for Anti-arch at lvl 6 and her arty dmg reducing skill is makes her a good choice for anti-arty as well. Mocty is for healing purposes but you can replace him easily with equipment unless you plan on healing defenses. Nobunaga Oda is for debuffing EVERYONE and getting that sweet +50% dmg to EVERYONE at lvl 4 and 6. Hence, his #1 position as arguably the best non-IAP arch gen. I completed all campaigns with 3 stars with 3 arch generals in the team: Nobunaga-Li-Jhansi. Obviously I wanted to replace her with Nelson from the very beginning, but I had other priorities meantime. So I'm considering Jhansi as a decent replacement before you can get Nelson... Dain explained very well why... Total cost of her upgrades and useful skills is around 2500 medals. That is very low by EW5 standarts... So for 2500 medals you have: 1. Commander skill (probably the best skill in the game) 2. Inspiration (quite good) 3. Plunder (very useful ability) 4. 75% probability of no retaliation (very good against archers) 5. Last but not least you can use her even after you can get Nelson (for sometimes 3 Commanders- Li-Nelson-Jhansi - could be very helpful and together they make Nobunaga a beast) Do not put her in bloodbath battles, keep her out of big troubles - and she will serve you well... |

Cath has excellent unit's abilities at lvl 6 (literally 60), but her personal skills are not good enough. Jhansi has both. She is weak as a general, but a good conbination of her skills and abilities makes her a very effective fighter. For some period of time though Cath can be very useful as well. One thing I like about EW5 is that blue and grey generals are not expensive to upgrade. Fully upgraded Jhasi will cost you a laughable amount of medals. It is an important factor as well... |

One thing I like about EW5 is that blue and grey generals are not expensive to upgrade. Fully upgraded Jhasi will cost you a laughable amount of medals. It is an important factor as well... Any amount of medals spent is not laughable. However, it's nice that upgrading Blue & Grey tier gens take less than 1000 medals PER upgrade. |
