A thing of interest is how the AI chooses which units to attack. Between two units it seems to attack the unit it can get the best damage dealt to damage received ratio or something like that. I am not entirely sure how it works but the AI tends to always attack your weakest units. To make use of this I started purposely building weak and cheap units such as light inf and armored cars to use as bait for the AI by moving them in range of enemy units but not attacking. Most of the time this saves damage from my precious artillery generals who I cannot afford to take too much damage. Gonna expand on this a bit, when facing enemy units with a range of 2 they will ALWAYS attack units with a range of 1 if they can. However when attacking the AI seems to always give priority to attacking cities over favorable combat ratios. I’ve noticed this as well, and I noticed another wrinkle as well. If the enemy is attacking and you find yourself on the defensive, you can attack a city they have pulled units out of to come after you. If you can take it, they will pull back to attack the city you just took. I’m not certain if this is always triggered or if it only works when the city you take is bigger than the one you are defending. Regardless, it rewards taking the initiative.

Never underestimate the enemy, especially when you have low tech & weak/not as strong gens.
Enemy AI in conquests have tech advantage over players with low tech lvls. They are also always more aggressive than allies.

Conquest is harder. The AI is improved and enemy turrets stay when you conquer all their cities. Hmm does that change anything? As land forts have improved from WC3 and become harder to destroy they make it nearly impossible to get city health in newly conquered areas
