I think this thread kinda stupid but I just want to make sure some stuff so I can use my generals effectively. Questions: 1. U guys all know generals have multiple stars right, I just want to ask like: -if I put manstein on a tank and he have some stars on atillery and air force, will he gonna deal more damage on the artillery or gonna have a stronger defense on the air strikes? 2. If a on land general have some naval stars will his unit will be less vulnerable? -like I'll put yamamoto on the artillery will he last longer the normal artillery?

General's have three really significant things you should care about. - Rank, which increases ONLY the HEALTH of the unit he is on (ANY unit) - Stars, which ONLY increases DAMAGE on the unit he is on, depending on how many stars he has for that type. - Skill, which does ONLY according to it's DESCIPTION. (E.g. Increases damage on blahblah terrain)
To answer your questions: - No, he (Manstein) will only deal the additional damage for being on a tank and nothing else (damage by aircraft also increases) - He (Yamamoto)'ll get more health for his unit thanks to his rank. Damage dealt will be according to stars.

To add on, ONLY movement & air stars work on ANY unit the gen is on.
If Manstein is on a tank, he gets boost in tank dmg, air dmg & movement (affected by terrain). Even if Manstein has navy stars and his lamd unit is on sea transport, dmg dealt DOES NOT increase by effect of navy stars (if he has any navy stars).

According to my experience I havent really seen generals on land units deal more damage when on carriers then normal units, like the stars dont affect them, for example: if I put Manstein on a tank unit, move him in the water and let him attack something, I havent really noticed a big change between the damage of him and a normal unit of that same type.

Hey! What diff does the COLOR of the general's star have to do with combat effectiveness??? Not much, it's just a general guide of how powerful your general is. However, it's worth noting that the first two stars (not for mobility) increase damage by 4 each, while stars three and four add 5 and stars five and six add 6 each.
