What technologies should i research first? And why?

Hi, how would you advise me (or anyone) to upgrade their tech tree? What technologies should i research first? And why? I'm going for infantry as it is in all early campaigns and after I unlocked armored I go for it as armored are the strongest unit type😉

I went for artillery first coz I didnt want to fight directly while I was still weak. Not sure if that's the right choice tho but at least it got me pass many first few campaigns and conquests. The most crucial upgrade is movement lv1 which allows your howitzer to move 1 more hex. Quality of life improved. Maybe if you decided to go the other path, you can share your experience.

Mobility upgrades for tanks and artillery are high priority as are the HP boosts for tanks. Getting the Vehicle 1 and 2 upgrades on tanks gives you 60 additional HP. Attack is the most crucial for artillery. Also do not overlook naval upgrades. Navy is far more important in almost all aspects of this game. Many scenarios are heavy on navy, you will need navy to conduct any amphibious landings on the shores of major powers in conquests, and the exercises and invasions also make heavy use of navy. The hull upgrades on navy are huge. If you get all five of the currently available hull upgrades for navy, you get 300 additional HP on every ship! That is massive.

I would say focus on tank and artillery first because they are the most common troops I built. Later on you want to give some upgrades to infantry and navy units because you have to use those unit types in domination mode missions. I am not sure about the other tech trees but I don't think they are as important. I have not gotten a single upgrade for anti air, fortifications, and missiles. Missiles might be more important when cold war comes.

Fortifications are better because they have higher HP, but this is still a game about attacking. Missile upgrades will be more valuable in Cold War I'm sure. With proper tech level, you can build missile silos in any city now, so missiles are more useful. Also, they don't use cash. Just industry and science, which you often have to spare late game.

Lol not true in early game where I found myself always missing some science in a much needed air strike

Looking at my india conquest, the howitzers just can't keep up with my main army, the artillery movement upgrade seems crucial to me.

Maybe a good side note. There are lots of wounders wcich will decrease upgrade costs so if you want to save something dont upgrade all the time to the max

Air, fortifications and missile tech can all wait. We can't fully utilize air power until we can unlock the best air abilities. Yiunare usually better off building a unit than a fortification. Missiles can get some use in conquests, but you won't use them in most of the scenarios and Domination missions like you do tank, artillery and navy.

Considering how limited resources are, antiair & fortifications just never seem to be a consideration
But I wonder if my units might last longer with an antiair add-on
