I'm a FTP. I'm currently stuck on Axis 05 and Allies 06. I've beaten Conquest 1939 as a 1* country (Finland).
I was thinking of purchasing Messe as my first general knowing the quality he provides for a cheap price. Or maybe get Leeb?
Any suggestions or ideas? If you do have one, please submit it for i'd really appreciate it. I'm a bit confused on what to do in order to continue making progress... (tech trees, wonders, domination, buying troops for domination, medal spending, etc.)

There is a specific thread on here discussing first general choices. I would suggest Messe or save up for Vatutin. Vatutin is a top quality tank commander and can be used in your final roster as a third tank option.
The reality is that tank generals are king in this game. They hit as hard as artillery most of the time, they have a lot more hit points and the chance to hit multiple times in one turn if you destroy an enemy.

Do you have to beat:
Europe WW2 Allies OR Axis
Europe WW2 Allies AND Axis
WW2 Pacific Allies OR Axis
WW2 Pacific Allies AND Axis

There is a specific thread on here discussing first general choices. I would suggest Messe or save up for Vatutin. Vatutin is a top quality tank commander and can be used in your final roster as a third tank option. The reality is that tank generals are king in this game. They hit as hard as artillery most of the time, they have a lot more hit points and the chance to hit multiple times in one turn if you destroy an enemy. Thanks for the information, i greatly appreciate it. Now I’m in a huge decision on which tank General to pick for a start... lose 550 for Messe? Use the entire 1800 for Vatutin? Or save hopefully for Guderian, which seems extremely unlikely or difficult... |

Messe is when you are just starting the game and have barely any medal but you saved enough that I think you can go for Vatutin |

To unlock 43 conquest you have to beat Europe WW2 Allies AND Axis. Aww... well, you can’t always have the easy route. |

Dude I'm not even trying to go straight for Guderian, it doesn't seem very possible, ok you can do it, but you would need all S rank 1939 conquests and all axis&allies campaigns at least on 2 stars, without generals it feels almost impossible |

I started the game on this Monday, since then Messe brought me around 40 medals for daily invasions (for example, today morning he completed 2 invasions for 5 medals each). In a couple of days I can cover the cost difference between his price and buy-back price. But it is probably a mistake to hire him after a week or more of play. One does not sharpen the axes after the time they are needed. |

I started the game on this Monday, since then Messe brought me around 40 medals for daily invasions (for example, today morning he completed 2 invasions for 5 medals each). In a couple of days I can cover the cost difference between his price and buy-back price. But it is probably a mistake to hire him after a week or more of play. One does not sharpen the axes after the time they are needed. Did he get you through any campaigns which you cannot pass before?  |
