Mannerheim in Finland conquest is totally OP, he can take any general on map out 1v1 if he is in forests, he deals over 110 damage at minimum, I have used him to insta kill enemy artillery and infantry by one shot.

I fully agree. Yet he is not fully upgraded ! So imagine him with medals for Raider and Guerilla skills and with a better rank. I still hope to get one of these medals before to use much more Mannerheim. Otherwise you have Rundstedt, cheaper with more or less the same skills but less upgraded when you get him.

Rundstedt is Mannerheim lite, but he is nowhere near as good

You should see him in the 1943 conquest. Instead of mechanized infantry he is on commando which is more awesome because Finland commando has damage boosting abilities against infantry and tanks.

You should see him on Australian commando. They get plus 75 percent damage in forests to stack with his Jungle Fighting, plus the bonus damage to tanks. He hits tanks like a nuke when Infantry Leader fires. I’ve had him hit for more than 400 damage.

I think that we can agree he is one of the best if not the best infantry general in game

I like Yamashita a little better for most circumstances. He has two open ability slots, so you can give him Infantry Leader and Guerilla. Mannerheim only has one open slot, so you have to choose between the two. That means he either doesn’t get the massive hits from Leader ability or he dies quicker because he can’t avoid retaliation. Yamashita’s mobility is also notably helpful. He can also hit super hard in commando units. I use Mannerheim only if I’m playing in a situation where his Jungle Fighting is going to make a huge difference. Like if I have Australian commandos or an invasion with forests everywhere.

Mannerheim was the first general I bought and I don’t regret buying him. I don’t know why he is in silver instead of gold.

Yamashita has Ace Forces as first skill. Is it a good/decent skill, because I don't see any HP restoration when my troops level up?

If your general is attached to a unit with a much higher rank, he hits significantly harder. Ace Forces is not my preferred ability for any role, but it’s not a useless skill, either. All of my 400 and 500-plus hits with tank generals have come when they’ve earned several promotions. They are much more reliable at one-shotting most enemies once they have been promoted several times.

Just checked, and it seems like you get 3-4 additional attack and some additional defense for each promotion. After several promotions, it starts to become noticeable, especially with the percentage damage boosts from abilities like Raider or Accuracy or Explosives. If you give Yamashita the Patriotic medal, he gets plus 48 percent infantry damage. So if you get three or four more promotions from Ace Forces (with Honour medal he gets 150 percent xp), you will end up getting 10 or 12 more damage, which goes up to 15-18 with Guerilla maxed out and medal. Then when you get critical hits with Infantry Leader, you get exponentially more damage. Like I said, it’s not my favorite ability. But it isn’t a complete waste like Mannerheim’s Elastic Defense. Plus, Yamashita gets an additional ability slot, so you could add Jungle Fighting or Plain Fighting to mirror Mannerheim’s abilities with Bayonet Charge and Ace Forces as two bonus abilities. Or you can do what I did and give him Guerilla, which helps him avoid retaliation and live a lot longer.
