Alright well I feel like alot of hosts feel left out when they host an RP so I'm going to go over a few recommendations on how to be able to play without players being upset
1. Play as a neutral source
Alot of people tend to pick neutral countries/persons in RPs, such as Switzerland. This allows them to play without bias.
2. Allow players to vote off your decisions
If players can vote off your decisions in administering the RP, they are much less likely to feel you are abusing the host powers
3. No OP moves!
If you absolutely must play, please try to handicap yourself. In many instances, this can be more fun, and more fair to the normal players.
4. Personify the Host's actions
Like I'm doing with the tribal althis, use your play AS your moderation. An example would be from the rule "if X happens then Y will happen". And make Y happen, but with your player character.
5. If the players still don't like it, consider a referendum
Sometimes, players just aren't comfortable with hosts playing. If it gets to the point, host a poll, and if they want you gone, have your character die in a natural lore based way, or hand over control to someone else.
