I think everybody underestimate the value of rundstedt. I bought him as my third general (after leeb guderian) and give him inf leader raider. I used him mostly as a second tank commander (has 3 star tank and art.) or art. Although he has none of the tank or art abilities, he has one important thing RANK! As a major general, he has %163 health in red rank. Everybody think that, keeping messe is important, i sold him when i had bought guderian and i can say that rundstedt has more value on a tank because he has better survive ability. Also he solved all my problems on infantry invasions. He opened the road of nimitz for me and now i have all around team for invasions. (Leeb guderian rundstedt nimitz) after developing tech, i ll do the %40 discount mission of rommel and will buy it. All konev missions completed before, after rommel, i ll get konev and later dowding. Dont underestimate the value of ranks in this game.
Also, everbody is overdoing about mannerheim. He cant get all important abilies of infantry, and have lower rank. Yamashita is better but overpriced for an inf general. So rundstedt has his value, if you think over him, go for him.

The only place where you need inf gen is invasions. And my Konev without any rank upgrades, lv3 raider and lv5 rumor (other skills not used for inf) can clear any inf invasion. Besides that rumor is very useful for art too. |

I was forced to sell Rundstedt (for budget reasons). In modern war campaigns HP and defense of an infantry general are the biggest problem, and I don't see how it can be solved right now. Besides, damage output of your best Inf general (with two medals) can be compared to that of your weakest tank general (without any medal) only in case of Commandos with terrain bonuses. Otherwise the basic damage wins the day. Last but not least, you simply can't create an Inf general with an optimal set of skills. Let's say: Infantry Leader, Raider, Guerilla, Rumor and (Explosives/Replacement/Terrain bonus). For these 3 reasons, I think, Inf generals are not very popular in WC4... Compare HP, defense and attack:   My Rokossovsky is still a MG. The difference (I mean HP) will be even greater in case of purple Marshals... |

I accept your opinions, i didnt achieved so far as you i m in cold war missions and this team also achieved 1st one of these campaign missions 3 star with green banner, didnt tried other ones. If i feel he cant get anymore, i ll sell him. My opinion is you must advence, and he can open the roads of other great generals. Promoting raider and rumor for konev also need medals, giving him 5th inf star also need medals. At the begining my first purpose for midgame was, getting all kind of generals for dealing daily invasions because These medals are free, also four commander tasks can be done. After that his buyback price 1150 i think , i can get konev only for around 400 medals. His missions were easy and easy to get him. Mostly without spending any medal he has 3 star art and 3 star tank as a hybrid. Messe have 4 star and nobody spend medals on him for 5th one. He is a step for my strategy only before getting and prepairing inf missions with konev. Also thank u for sharing your experience  |
