Personally I got two stars completely ignoring Konev and just going around him. Guderian lvl 4 rumour + Nimitz lvl 2 rumour FTW

The only thing I'm concerned about is that RNG (skills, etc.) absolutely hates me. Even Guderian (sigh).

Keep the naval general at a higher health (percent wise) than your land generals and on round 12, park him near Konev's city but not within his range. If you do this, Zhukov will nuke the navy general instead of you tank general and you'll conserve your general's health. Also go for Zhukov before Timoshenko and use rumor and flanking to confuse both. Then you can drop an antimatter bomb on Chuikov's city and get a 3 star.

Attempt 1: not only did Guderian avoid activating level 4 rumour twice, the enemy Konev got his artillery leader or whatever it's called. My Konev died too Attempt 2: Much better luck this time. Despite none of Guderian's level 4 skills activating for three turns in a row, killing Konev, Timoshenko and Zhukov was quite easy. USSR ended up nuking a mechanized infantry for some reason. I lost the city containing Chuikov, but got it back since the enemy AI left it undefended. Easy three stars. So yeah, going for Konev does help. Unless RNG hates you.

You will never feel the pain of losing because an 80% howitzer no-retaliation didn't activate twice in a row, or having Guderian's 72% blitzkrieg miss 4 out of 6 turns. Or better yet, having a 30% rumour on Nimitz not get activated for 15 turns straight and then have it activate on a coastal artillery...

After Konev, I go straight for Zhukov with at least three generals. I use a naval general on the cruiser to attack Timoshenko and confuse him.

However, I decided to go for Timoshenko first instead, and that worked out just as well. If I had less firepower I probably would've gone for Zhukov first, but I guess if you have good generals/tech it doesn't matter too much as long as you don't split your forces.

I only go after Zhukov for three reasons: one, while my generals have decent health. Two, he will nuke again. The first one occurs on turn 12, I'm not sure about the second. Three, I use nukes on Timoshenko after Nimitz reduces city hp to 0.

Three, I use nukes on Timoshenko after Nimitz reduces city hp to 0. Zhukov has 0 IQ when it comes to nukes. First he went for my Nimitz in a cruiser, then he went for the mechanized infantry I had as bait. I didn't have to use nukes on Timoshenko since Guderian + Nimitz + Flanking was more than enough. As long as you're aware of Zhukov's range you can just make him waste his nukes and resources. But yeah, if I was running low on hp, I'd also go for Zhukov first.

I just replayed the scenario - the second nuke occurred on turn 20. Finished on turn 23. Nukes + my generals = Timoshenko gone in 2 turns 😂
