I think there is the general image that trading is not really good due to the bad rate you trade resources. Yet in my situation I am finding use for trading, There are certain upgrades I want to get that need technology but I don't have enough for. Also I have a huge stockpile of industry and energy. 1350 energy for 75 technology does not seem like a bad deal imo .org/]  [/url] .org/]  [/url] What are your options on trading? Is it never a good idea or do you think it can be useful? |

I built discount buildings for trade early on, so I always try to keep the balance...

Yep. I also find it very useful. I normally have an excessive amount industry while lacking the other (usually get 3-4 industry tasks out of the total of 7 per round) so I trade it for energy and tech (6750 industry -> 750 energy or 75 tech. not so bad deal).
btw, in case you have not noticed this yet, you can keep refreshing the trading by reloading the domination screen (e.g. go to HQ screen and come back). So you can keep doing this until you get the trade offer that you want, like an offer to trade industry for tech.

From what I have seen, the offers are like
Pay 1000 energy to get 50 tech 20:1
Pay 200 tech to get 1000 energy. 1:5
It can be easily seen that trading is at a 4x advantage for the trader, which is basically a ripoff.
Even with both wonders it would be
Pay 900 to get 50 18:1=324:18
Pay 180 to get 1000 18:100
So it becomes 3.24x rating which is still really bad.
My general advice is to hold off trading until late game, since it seems that coins and industry are not really needed by then and the other one become scarce.

Trading with medals is good after you get all of your essencial generals because the resources are huge and it helps to upgrade your tech tree.
