What is that space shuttle at the left bottom? It's the same as ion cannon from WC3. It lets you do damage anywhere on the map and has a cool down after use. The ion cannon is scenario-specific. If you get to use a ion cannon and what lvl the ion cannon is depends on the scenario. It only starts being available near the end of Cold War scenarios.

The only hope is that modern war would be more interesting. I would say modern war is definitely going to be a challenge, especially on hard mode where generals seem to have lots of hp. I posted a screenshot of a enemy general with 1800 hp last page.
