Mechanised inf is basically a fort & city cracking inf with a slight stat boost compared to Motorised Inf. Only difference being that as it is mechanised, it basically possesses armour that gives max speed output... until it is affected by terrain.
Motorised inf on the other hand, is basically an anti-tank inf. Motorised inf, I believe, is tge only inf type out of the 2 to be able to seamlessly cross rivers/streams without taking hits to its speed.
What are your thoughts? Upgrade to para-mecha-inf or para-motor-inf? (Not applicable to myself YET cuz I'm a noob at everything. Still stuck in Pacific War.)

I think that only a very courageous player or Desperado will attack tanks with Infantry. One exception - your oun Inf General. But we don't speak about exceptions, so - Mechanised Inf...

Well staying at motorized means you won't get access to the later range and attack upgrades so in the long run you will want Mechanzied infantry. Still without it I still go with Mechanzied infantry to take cities.

The para-motorized infantry was fantastic in my recent Japan conquest, they are great units. They each deal about 25-30 damage to a city and move around incredibly quickly. Perfect for the Asian part of the Soviet Union. I hardly ever use Mechanized infantry, whether it's para or not. I'll still probably upgrade if I have leftover resources though

Basically every modern guerilla fighting group, Soviet & Chinese strategies when they have lack adequate tank and ranged support. Not necessarily the same thing. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BGM-71_TOWThis would be brutally effective on the enemy tanks while being a great deal more affordable than maintaining your own tank forces (or artillery/air forces support). So in the modern-day guerilla group fighting, an infantry with TOWs would've been a relatively cost-effective strategy and doesn't require a large pile of dead bodies to accomplish the same goal. I know it would be a bit too far into the future to apply the TOWs to WC4's WW2 battles & conquests, but an anti-tank infantry should be affordable and does some considerable damage on enemy tanks to be a good unit in the lineup for a strategic game. That's what is available for modern-day guerilla groups. Speaking of... TOW infantry is an unit found in Civ3 (Ironically, they're a little too expensive, costing 120 shield/hammer/production to build in Civ3 in the modern age (the 4th, last age) in comparison to Mech. Infantry costing 10 less at 110, having better defensive values and can move faster)
