I tried beating 1950 turkey with no generals and thus far I have failed pretty hard. Has anyone else tried this particular senario and come up with different results?

Nope, haven't tried Turkey. Looks like a pretty easy time since you are surrounded by 1 star countries (Iraq, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary) and have easy access to Africa. Also a decent income with a level 6 and level 4 city. No generals is probably a hassle at the start though, Iraq and Iran strike pretty hard.

I give my generals individual assignments and then I'm surprised when they fail miserably. Then Guderian marches in and does all of their jobs for them. That's pretty much how all of my conquests go.
