Erwin Johannes Eugen Rommel , Consider getting an artillery general. They aren't as strong as they were in wc3 but artillery is still better than tanks in a lot of scenarios. Leeb is pretty good and relatively cheap ooh did you play wc3 before wc4? no wonder you seem familiar about how wc4 works even though you just started out. Konev is the best, followed by zhukov, and leeb. Zhang zz can be considered too. But no way Artillery is better than Tank. The weakness of tank in WC3 is survivability but in WC4, blitzkrieg is better than its old version a lot (increase from 24% to 60% is ridiculous). Tank rules the battlefield in WC4  |

Artillery is immensely useful too as the terrorist generals will take at least 6 turns to defeat one if you only use tank gens, but with konev and guderian working together, they can bring down osborn in 4 turns. |

I would stick with farming Finland 1939 until your tech and generals are improved. As far as one-star countries go yep Finland is the best I have found... I will share some fun tactics soon... |

Yeah, Finland is easily the best 1 star country for farming resources. Spain and/or Romania for 2 stars seems to be well-accepted (and they are fairly easy as well), and Germany is for 3 stars, although my personal preference is Italy for 1939. |

Sorry guys, the real world rudely interrupted me for a few hours.
Anyway... I started a campaign with Finland the other day and, largely because Norway would start spamming submarines, I immediately sent the Mann across the water to hit Norway. Following up with a commando by the time that Copenhagen'd fallen to the Nazis. In that scenario I am either going to take the city or the port... This time I lucked out and got both. And instead of throwing my soldiers into the Russian frontier I spammed sub's until I took out this stupid Brit carriers... And after capturing the port of Manchester I held it until I could make a carrier of my own.
THEN I started taking back Russian/German cities... It just built up from there.
Finland is the easiest one star to win with.

I agree with your two star list. I have had successful conquests with them. I can use India if I conquer this neutral middle east countries on my way to Africa... I don't think I have made a three star success yet.... Not as Germany anyway.

I don't think I have made a three star success yet.... Not as Germany anyway. I myself have never done a successful Germany 1939 conquest, but that's because I always stick with Italy. Also for Finland, my tactic is to take the Baltic states, Leningrad, and the Nordic cities (Copenhagen, Oslo, and when I finish defending from the Red Wave, Stockholm). After that, TO MOSCOW! |

It is a shame that there isn't a multiplayer mode. I would like to take Romania to Donetz and Stalingrad while your Fin attack the northern Russian states. It would be fun.

A multiplayer mode would definitely have made the game a lot more fun. You might wanna be careful though, I could get a bit greedy and take Stalingrad. Just kidding, I'd rather focus on Kiev and Moscow to build Heavy Tanks.

Finland was easy, I just threw my troops at Leningrad then spammed howitzers in Minsk to take Moscow, after then the Soviets fell apart when Hungary took Stalingrad, I then took Norway with Paratroopers and waited for missile tech to land in Britain, It was a slog after that, I completed it tho, it gave me the medals to get Guderian |

Did you continue on going west after England? At the time of the earlier post I had decided to go the opposite direction of the rest of the Axis of Europe and join up with Spain vs U.S. and Canada. It's a long way across Russia and not much to show for it until you get to China. Going west worked better for me.
Once we had control of the Atlantic it was fine... and those aircraft carriers were great for taking down all of South America at the same time.

Yes, I bombed Glasgow and landed a force of commandos, It's a long time ago but I remember Using only air and missile power to clear out America, as my tanks were always far behind the frontlines, I remember Nuking Washington and going on a hunt for ~3 rounds to find the naval bases |

Absolutely right... when I took down the U.S. it was by taking over Cuba and using missiles on the Gulf of Mexico region... plus I took Mexico in order to hit the west coast. Missiles and paratroopers... fast and easy. I didn't have a navy general at the time, but now I do and so cleaning the east coast should be even faster now.

First post so I hope I’m not violating any guidelines, I’ve currently completed the scenarios, and I’m focusing on the last few exercises. I have about 4 5ths of the tech done, and 7 generals, the 3 iaps all base with manstien maxed panzer leader blitzkerieg and assault Konev guderian Rommel maxed and just got nimitz, all generals have red names. I’m currently farming 1939 Finland, and I’m wondering what the best conquest to ai farm is. I’m fine starting it by putting down my generals on triple tanks arty etc. Thank you
