You did it , congratulations It is General Charles Huntziger, who commanded Fourth French Army Group which was placed in Ardenne region. He ordered the retreat of French Army from river meuse (probably, not sure it was meuse but it was a river) which was doing pretty well in stopping Guderian crossing the river. The retreat allowed Guderian to continue his advance and he eventually encircle the allied forces in northern France , rest is history. Charles Huntziger also was the main signatory , on French side, of the 22 June 1940 Armistice. He would later serve as defense minister of French state from September 1940 to August 1941. He died in a plane crash on 11 November 1941. |

I played a important role in Fall of France 1940 but I am not rommel , guderian , manstein or hitler. I served as minister of defence later for my country but will not outlive the global war that was happening then How did he play a role in the fall of france? |
