I suppose I should throw out a new question, or give some more hints. Here's a hint: this man's friend and monarch was one of the Henrys, and father of Richard the Lionheart (famous for the Crusades) and King John (infamous for singing the Magna Carta). His reign, which was quite successful, was spoiled by the murder of this man. I hope this helps rather than making the question more confusing! No clue who it may be, but just by chance I'll try to guess the names of his murderers, Let's say these men were Reginald FitzUrse, Hugh de Morville, William de Tracy and Richard le Breton And let's say that his former frend gave the world famous indirect death sentence "Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?"

If all else fails, we can always answer with the names of saints we know, but let's not be too hasty to take the easy way out yet.

That's what I figured! Congrats, now it is your turn. Oooh, that's the rule... Well, ok. I think it will be an easy one. Without any doubt all know his name. But I will use less known facts about him. 1. He was named after a Mexican president. 2. His father was an atheist and his mother was a devout Catholic. 3. He wrote a political biography about the life of the Czech ecclesiastic reformer and national hero Jan Hus. 4. He knew 6 foreign languages. 5. At some points of history he was praised (even admired) by 3 politicians, whoose views were totally opposed to each other. 6. He was pronounced by some as the "Sword of Islam" and as the "Protector of Islam" and ordered to kill Orthodox priests and monks 7. His violin was sold for 150000$. 8. From his youth he was a man of passion. He was expelled from the school for stabbing another boy with a penknife and threatened to kill himself and his young mistress unless her parents agreed to allow her to live with him.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark, would it be Benito Mussolini?

Nice guess! I wouldn't have thought of that, but it would make sense if it was him.

If I did get it correct, the part that made my decision was the first hint "named after mexican president" because Benito was named after Benito Juerez I think it was.

I actually did think about Benito Juarez, because he is the only Mexican president I know besides Vicente Fox, but my brain didn't make the leap to "Il Duce".
