I did a quick recheck Charlemagne is the first emperor of HRE, so that means one of the above if I remember correctly if he didn't have a 3rd grandfather lol If those two are definitely right then he had at least one more lol. This one is widely credited with preserving Christianity in Europe by defeating the Muslim invaders of the time.

It just occurred to me that Childeric 3 wasn't pepins father, so that means that it is Charles Martel, so I really need to go into lineages a bit more lol, if we talk about kings, then Childeric 3 was Pepins predecessor...

He defeated the Arabs on Poitiers! Correct! I'd have said he defeated them at Tours but I think that's a bit potatoes tomatoes. Your turn Willy.

Alright, next question.
What is the name of the Serene Doge of Venice who basically controlled the most failed and random crusade?
Which Byzantine Emperor was resposible for the permanent loss of Asia Minor to the Turks? (He was blinded and executed for it, after his total defeat in a great battle)

As for the question, I'll say Pietro I Candiano as he is one few dukes of Venice that I know and he was the first one killed in battle.

Well, I talk about the most failed crusade in terms that it didn't even come close to achieving its goal (they didn't even try). In the battle of Saulepart, there was, at least, a battle with the intentded targets.

I am gonna give in on the second question, since I know it's a little too hard. So I will replace it with this: Who discovered Australia?

I will accept both answers.

Well that's me stumped then. We'll see if anyone else knows before I start throwing random guesses at you.
