I’m a Chinese officer from ww2 and the Chinese civil war. I was known as the Rommel of the East and considered a talent by the Americans during ww2. I studied at the US Virginia Military Camp And was hated for it, who am I? Sun Li Jen? Yes this was too obvious wasn’t it XD

I'll have a crack at it:
-He is the most famous admiral from a nation that is not considered a great sea power.
-His most famous achievement is a victory against Italy.
-However he passed away at quite a young age.
