A Thracian born in modern day Bulgaria c. 111 BC died 71 BC. There are many football clubs named after him. Little is known of his early life and the extent of his military training, but he was undoubtedly skilled in single combat and an excellent tactician as he defeated the Roman forces sent to stop him on at least four occasions. |
